Marvin Abney
Marvin L. Abney (born November 10, 1949 in Texarkana, Texas) is an American politician and a Democratic member of the Rhode Island House of Representatives representing District 73 since January 1, 2013. During the legislative session beginning in 2015, Abney was one of three African-Americans in the Rhode Island Legislature. Representative Abney is the current Chairman of the House Finance Committee. Education Abney earned his bachelor's degree in public administration from Stephen F. Austin State University (1975), his Master's degree in management from Webster University (1982), attended the United States Army Command and General Staff College in Munich, Germany (late 1980s), and earned his MBA from the University of Rhode Island (2000). Rhode Island General Assembly
The State of Rhode Island General Assembly is the state legislature of the U.S. state of Rhode Island. A bicameral body, it is composed of the lower Rhode Island House of Representatives with 75 representatives, and the upper Rhode Island Senate with 38 senators. Members are elected in the general election immediately preceding the beginning of the term or in special elections called to fill vacancies. There are no term limits for either chamber. United States Army Command And General Staff College
The United States Army Command and General Staff College (CGSC or, obsolete, USACGSC) at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, is a graduate school for United States Army and sister service officers, interagency representatives, and international military officers. The college was established in 1881 by William Tecumseh Sherman as the School of Application for Infantry and Cavalry (later simply the Infantry and Cavalry School), a training school for infantry and cavalry officers. In 1907 it changed its title to the School of the Line. The curriculum expanded throughout World War I, World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War and continues to adapt to include lessons learned from current conflicts.
