Marv Newland
Marv Newland (March 9, 1947) is an American-Canadian filmmaker, specialized in animation. Career Newland began a career making animated motion pictures in Los Angeles with the creation of the short '' Bambi Meets Godzilla'' (1969). He then designed and animated television commercials until late 1970 when he moved to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. While in Toronto (1970–1972) he designed, directed and animated television commercials for Sesame Street and Educational Television, and segments for longer films. Newland was also one of two designers and storyboard artists on the Cinera Productions cartoon ''Super Joe'' (1971). He was a storyboard designer on an unemployment insurance film at Crawley Films in Ottawa, and created designs and layouts for TV commercials for Phos-Cine Productions in New York. Liquid Television
''Liquid Television'' was an animation showcase that appeared on MTV from 1991 to 1995. It has served as the launching point for several high-profile original cartoons, including '' Beavis and Butt-Head'' and '' Æon Flux''. The bulk of ''Liquid Television'''s material was created by independent animators and artists specially for the show, and some previously produced segments were compiled from festivals such as Spike and Mike's Festival of Animation. The first season of ''Liquid Television'' also aired on BBC Two in co-production with MTV. Ultimately, MTV commissioned three seasons of the show, which was produced by Colossal Pictures. King Of Hearts (1966 Film)
''King of Hearts'' (original French title: ''Le Roi de cœur'') is a 1966 French/Italian international co-production comedy-drama film directed by Philippe de Broca and starring Alan Bates and Geneviève Bujold. The film is set in a small town in France near the end of World War I. As the Imperial German Army retreats, they booby trap the whole town to explode. The locals flee and, left to their own devices, a gaggle of cheerful lunatics escape the asylum and take over the town — thoroughly confusing the lone Scottish soldier who has been dispatched to defuse the bomb. Though the film is set during WWI the main message against war which the film pushes is intended to be about the Vietnam war which France had already been involved in for over a decade at this point.
