Marty Whelan
Martin "Marty" Whelan (born 7 June 1956) is an Irish radio and television personality currently working for Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ). His early television credits included the game shows ''Millionaire'' and '' Fame and Fortune'', and the weekday afternoon show, '' Open House''. In 1997, Whelan became the host of the annual The Rose of Tralee contest, a role he held until 2003 when Ryan Tubridy replaced him. His RTÉ 2fm radio show, '' Marty in the Morning'' was axed in 2007 and replaced with '' The Colm & Jim-Jim Breakfast Show.'' Whelan now presents Marty in the Morning on RTÉ Lyric fm. He has since made a return to television, winning the reality series '' Celebrity Bainisteoir'' in 2008. Since winning the series, he has made another return to television to guest-host the RTÉ One topical comedy show '' The Panel''. Kathryn Thomas
Kathryn Thomas (born 20 January 1979) is an Irish television presenter. Thomas won her first contract with RTÉ to co-present the children's television programme ''Rapid'' with Jason Sherlock in the 1990s. From there she went on to present ''No Frontiers'', touring the world to promote various countries on RTÉ Television. Early life Thomas attended the national school on the Green Road, Carlow and began her secondary school years in St Leo's College, Carlow. In her second year, she moved to The King's Hospital in Dublin as a boarder. Mary Kennedy
Mary Kennedy (; born 4 October 1954) is an Irish television personality and former newscaster, and writer. She presented the Eurovision Song Contest 1995 from the Point Theatre in Dublin. She has also presented her own Saturday night chat show called ''Kennedy (talk show), Kennedy'', a precursor to ''Saturday Night with Miriam''. ''Open House'' is an afternoon television show broadcast on RTÉ One between 1999 and 2004. The last episode was broadcast in 2004. It was presented by Mary Kennedy and Marty Whelan and focused on lifestyle, cookery and human interest issues. Presenters included Dermot O'Neill, the popular gardening expert. The show was broadcast five days a week (Monday to Friday), and was also transmitted to the United Kingdom via Tara Television. ''Fame & Fortune'' is a game show broadcast on RTÉ One on Saturday nights between 1996 and 2006. Presented by Marty Whelan (who signed off every show with the catchphrase: "How do you play? You buy a ticket."), the show aired during the summer months of June, July, and August as a seasonal replacement for ''Winning Streak''. RTÉ One is an Irish free-to-air flagship television channel owned and operated by RTÉ. Century Radio, also known as ''Century 100'' and later ''Century FM'', was a short-lived national commercial radio station in the Republic of Ireland, broadcasting from 4 September 1989 to 19 November 1991. A video file format is a type of file format for storing digital video data on a computer system. Video is almost always stored using lossy compression to reduce the file size.
