Martin McCarrick
Martin McCarrick (born 29 July 1962) is an English cellist, keyboardist, guitarist and composer, best known for being a member of Siouxsie and the Banshees for seven years, from 1987 until 1995. Aside from being a live and recording artist, he is also a teacher and visiting lecturer in music. Career His first recording in the pop/rock arena was on the 1983 Marc and the Mambas album ''Torment and Toreros'', and he has since maintained an association with Marc Almond. Siouxsie and the Banshees He is known for his work with Siouxsie and the Banshees from 1987 until 1995. He was featured on their 1987 album '' Through the Looking Glass'' and afterwards recorded three full studio albums: '' Peepshow'', ''Superstition'' and '' The Rapture''. Luton () is a town and Borough status in the United Kingdom, borough in Bedfordshire, England. The borough had a population of 225,262 at the 2021 census. Dead Can Dance
Dead Can Dance are a British-Australian band founded in Melbourne in 1981 by Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerrard, before relocating to London the following year. The Australian music historian Ian McFarlane described Dead Can Dance's style as "constructed soundscapes of mesmerising grandeur and solemn beauty; Music of Africa, African polyrhythms, Celtic music, Gaelic folk, Gregorian chant, Middle Eastern music, mantras, and art rock." ''Infernal Love'' is the fifth album by the Northern Ireland rock band Therapy? Their third album on a major label, it was released on 12 June 1995 on A&M Records. The album was recorded at Real World Studios in Box, Wiltshire from January to March 1995. Background The album was a major shift in direction from previous album '' Troublegum'', moving away from punk-metal to create a broad epic cinematic soundscape with a strong melodic and rock grounding, with the songs being linked by ambient music pieces from DJ David Holmes. The album also contains a vocals-and-cellos version of " Diane" by American punk band Hüsker Dü, which also became a single. The cellist, Martin McCarrick, later joined Therapy? for several albums. ''Troublegum'' is the second major label album by the Northern Irish rock band Therapy? It was released on 7 February 1994 via A&M Records. The album features a more punk-oriented style compared to the likes of Stiff Little Fingers, the Undertones and the band's previous noise rock-influenced works. Background The album was recorded in 1993 at Chipping Norton Recording Studios in Oxfordshire, as well as RAK Studios and Church Studios, both in London. It has a melodically dark, metal-like sound. The album contains a cover of " Isolation" by Joy Division, which also became a single. The Therapy? version also incorporates many musical elements from " Atrocity Exhibition". Martha Kristin Hersh (born August 7, 1966) is an American singer, guitarist, and songwriter known for her solo work and with her rock bands Throwing Muses and 50 Foot Wave, 50FootWave. She has released eleven solo albums. Her guitar work and composition style ranges from jaggedly dissonant to traditional folk. Lush (band)
Lush were an English rock band formed in London in 1987. The original line-up consisted of Miki Berenyi (vocals, guitar), Emma Anderson (vocals, guitar), Steve Rippon (bass guitar) and Chris Acland (drums). Phil King replaced Rippon in 1991. They were one of the first bands to have been described with the " shoegazing" label. Following the death of Acland, the group disbanded in 1996.
