Martin Lefebvre
Martin Lefebvre (born June 23, 1992) is a Canadian ice hockey defenceman who currently represents the Porin Ässät of the SM-liiga. Lefebvre has previously represented the Krefield Pinguine of the DEL, Aalborg Pirates of the Metal Ligaen and Stavanger Oilers of the Fjordkraftligaen. His achievements in said teams include Danish Championship, Danish Cup Championship, Danish League All-Star Team selection, two Norwegian Championships and Fjordjraftligaen Player of the Year award. Career Junior During the 2007–08 season Martin Lefebvre played for Crabtree Draveurs in the QMAAA as a 15 year old. Lefebvre put up 5 goals and 13 assists in 44 games. Lefebvre played 3 playoff games with 2 points. The next season Lefebvre continued to represent the Collège Esther-Blondin Draveurs in the QMAA. Lefebvre put up 30 points in 34 games. Porin Ässät (men's Ice Hockey)
Porin Ässät (; Finnish for ''Pori Aces'' or ''Aces of Pori'') is a professional ice hockey club based in the town of Pori, Finland. They play in the Finnish elite league, Liiga. They play in the Isomäki Areena. The team is also referred to as Pata and The Red Machine of Pori (''Porin Punakone''). The full name of the company operating the team is at present '' HC Ässät Pori Oy''. They have won three Finnish Championships in ice hockey (1971, 1978, and 2013), and several other medals — most recently silver in 2006. QMJHL
The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (french: Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec; abbreviated ''QMJHL'' in English, ''LHJMQ'' in French) is one of the three major junior ice hockey leagues that constitute the Canadian Hockey League. The league includes teams in the provinces of Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island. The current president of the QMJHL is Gilles Courteau. Champions Hockey League
The Champions Hockey League is a European first-level ice hockey tournament. Launched in the 2014–15 season by 26 clubs, 6 leagues and the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), the tournament features top teams across Europe. Background The IIHF launched a tournament with the same name in 2008 to coincide with the IIHF's 100th anniversary. The tournament's only season was played between 8 October 2008 and 28 January 2009, and was won by the ZSC Lions who got to play in the 2009 Victoria Cup game as a result. The IIHF planned to launch another season but was ultimately forced to cancel the tournament due to problems finding sponsors during the concurrent global economic crisis and failure to agree on a tournament format. ICE Hockey League
The ICE Hockey League (International Central European Hockey League), known as the win2day ICE Hockey League for sponsorship reasons, is a Central European hockey league that also serves as the top-tier ice hockey league in Austria, it currently features additional teams from Hungary, Italy, and Slovenia. The league was known as the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga (EBEL) from 2003 until 2020 and as the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League during the 2021-22 season. Bratislava Capitals
The Bratislava Capitals were a professional Slovak ice hockey club based in Bratislava, Slovakia. They mostly played in the ICE Hockey League in Austria. The club was established in 2015 and ceased operations in 2022. History HC Bratislava was established in 2015 in response to the lack of a Bratislava senior team in Slovak competitions. In its first season in the second division, it finished 12th out of 16 teams. In the 2016/17 season, the club found a stable home in Vladimír Dzurilla Arena in Ružinov. The club stabilized, established itself in the second hockey league and finished fourth out of 20 teams. Ice Hockey At The 2017 Winter Universiade
Ice hockey at the 2017 Winter Universiade was held from January 28 through February 8 at Halyk Arena (men's matches) and Baluan Sholak Sports Palace (women's matches) in Almaty. The selection of participating teams - 12 in the men's tournament and seven in the women's tournament, including the hosting Kazakhstan sides in both cases - was announced on July 25, 2016 while the draw to place the teams into their assigned pools took place on September 18, 2016. U Sports men's ice hockey is the highest level of play of men's ice hockey at the university level under the auspices of U Sports, Canada's governing body for university sports. As these players compete at the university level, they are obligated to follow the rule of standard eligibility of five years.
