Martin Greenberg (publisher)
Martin Greenberg (June 28, 1918 – October 20, 2013) was an American book publisher and editor of science fiction anthologies. Biography Greenberg married in 1941. He was in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945 where he attained the rank of corporal and won five battle stars. After leaving the Army, Greenberg was associated with the small press publisher New Collector's Group founded by Paul Dennis O'Connor and Hannes Bok. Greenberg and O'Conner clashed about the direction of the press, causing Greenberg to leave, taking the rights to ''The Carnelian Cube'' by L. Sprague de Camp and Fletcher Pratt as his buyout fee. In 1948, Greenberg founded Gnome Press with David Kyle, a fellow member of the Hydra Club, a New York City, New York-based science fiction club. Long Island is a densely populated continental island in southeastern New York (state), New York state, extending into the Atlantic Ocean. It constitutes a significant share of the New York metropolitan area in both population and land area. The island extends from New York Harbor eastward into the ocean with a maximum north–south width of . With a land area of , it is the List of islands of the United States by area, largest island in the contiguous United States.
