Martin Engelien
Martin Engelien (born in Steele, Essen, Germany) is a German bass guitarist and music producer who became known through recording the song ''1000 und 1 Nacht'' (1984) with Klaus Lage. Early life and education Engelien grew up in his birthplace Steele, where his parents ran the Engelien shoe store at Isinger Tor. He attended the high school Carl-Humann-Gymnasium, where he also passed his Abitur. Before co-founding the Klaus Lage Band, Engelien worked with musicians such as Helge Schneider, Thijs van Leer, Toto Blanke, and Peter Bursch Germany's 'National Guitar Teacher'. Career In 1983 he was a founding member of the Klaus Lage Band and later became the band's musical director. He also produced some of their albums. The band experienced their musical breakthrough in 1984 with the hit ''1000 und 1 Nacht''. During his time with Klaus Lage he was awarded a platinum album and three gold records. Voggenreiter is a German music publishing house. History In 1919, Ludwig Voggenreiter and established the publishing house Der Weiße Ritter (The White Knight) in Potsdam. When Habbel left the company in 1924 it was renamed Ludwig Voggenreiter Verlag. The program comprised mainly song- and logbooks as well as books for adolescents and fiction. After Voggenreiters death in 1947, his brother Heinrich continued the company, publishing bestselling songbooks such as ''Der Turm'' and ''Der Kilometerstein''. Two years later the company moved to Bad Godesberg and was renamed Voggenreiter Verlag. In 1967 Ernst Rüdiger Voggenreiter, Heinrich Voggenreiters son, founded the Xenophon record label which published songs by Reinhard Mey and Hannes Wader, and other musicians. Albert Mangelsdorff
Albert Mangelsdorff (September 5, 1928 – July 25, 2005) was a German jazz trombonist. Working mainly in free jazz, he was an innovator in multiphonics. Early life Mangelsdorff was born in Frankfurt on September 5, 1928, as the son of the bookbinder Emil Albert Joseph Mangelsdorff (1891–1963), born in Ingolstadt, and his wife Luise, née Becker (1896–1976), from Wertheim. He was given violin lessons as a child and was self-taught on guitar in addition to knowing trombone. His brother, Emil Mangelsdorff, had a jazz record collection, but during the Nazi period Albert's enthusiasm for the music had to be restrained. Mangelsdorff began his career as a professional musician in 1947 as a rhythm guitarist in the Otto Laufner Big Band, which played in US Army clubs. Music Man is an American guitar and bass guitar manufacturer. It is a division of the Ernie Ball corporation. The company is most well-known for its electric and bass guitars. It was acquired by Ernie Ball in 1984. History Early years In 1971, Forrest White and Tom Walker formed Tri-Sonix, Inc. Walker had previously been a sales representative at Fender. Walker approached Leo Fender about financial help in the founding.
