Martin Davies (museum Director)
Sir Martin Davies, CBE FBA FSA (22 March 1908 – 7 March 1975) was a British museum director and civil servant. He worked at the National Gallery in London from 1930 to 1973, and was Director from 1968. Martin Davies (law Professor)
Martin J. Davies (born 30 September 1957) is a UK-born professor of maritime law and heads the Maritime Law Center at Tulane University Faculty of Law, New Orleans, where he is the Admiralty Law Institute Professor of Maritime Law. He is a graduate of Oxford University (B.A. in Jurisprudence, 1978; B.C.L. 1979; M.A. 1983) and Harvard University (LL.M., 1980), and serves on the editorial board of ''Lloyd's Maritime and Commercial Law Quarterly''. He became a Titulary Member of the Comité Maritime International in 2019. Martin Davies (born 1965) is a British author. Martin Davies (born 28 June 1974 in Swansea, Wales) is a Welsh footballer who played for Coventry City, Cambridge United, Rushden & Diamonds, Dover Athletic and Cambridge City. He was a professional with Coventry City for five years but never played a first team game, before playing his only 16 league appearances with Cambridge United. He then played 61 times for Rushden & Diamonds and continued playing non-league football with Dover Athletic, Cambridge City, Port Talbot, Corby and Stamford before retiring in 2009. Martin Davies (born 1950) is a British philosopher who is Wilde Professor of Mental Philosophy Emeritus at the University of Oxford and Fellow of Corpus Christi College, Oxford where he taught from 2006 until 2017. He works in philosophy of mind, philosophy of language, epistemology and philosophy of psychology and cognitive science. Education and career Davies was an undergraduate at Monash University and then earned B.Phil. and D.Phil. degrees at Oxford University, working with Gareth Evans, Christopher Peacocke and Dana Scott. He taught at the University of Essex, Birkbeck College, London, and was Wilde Reader in Mental Philosophy at Oxford from 1993 to 2000.
