Marta Pavlisová
Marta Pavlisová, married Marta Kohoutová (29 July 1914 – 1953) was a Czechoslovak sprint canoer who competed in the 1930s and 1940s. Together with her sister, Marie Zvolánková, born Pavlisová, she won a gold medal in the K-2 600 m event at the 1938 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Vaxholm. Later she married, changing her family name to Pavlisová-Kohoutová. 1938 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships
The 1938 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships were held in Vaxholm, Sweden, outside Stockholm, between 6–7 August 1938. This event was held under the auspices of the Internationale Repräsentantenschaft Kanusport (IRK), founded in 1924 and the forerunner of the International Canoe Federation. The men's competition consisted of three Canadian (single paddle, open boat) and seven kayak events. Two events were held for the women, both in kayak. This was the first championships in canoe sprint and the only one held prior to World War II which would break out the following year. It is also the only time the K-1 10000 m folding and K-2 10000 m folding events would take place in the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships, world championships. 1948 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships
The 1948 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships were held in London, Great Britain. This event was held under the auspices of the International Canoe Federation, formed in 1946 from the Internationale Repräsentantenschaft Kanusport (IRK). The men's competition consisted of four kayak events. One kayak event was held for the women. The women's distance was reduced from 600 m to 500 m at these ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships, championships. These events were extraordinary since they were not included in the 1948 Summer Olympics, also held in London. Vaxholm is a city, urban area and the seat of Vaxholm Municipality, Stockholm County, Sweden. It occupies the islands of Vaxön and Kullö in the Stockholm archipelago.
