Marta Mulkins
Commodore Marta Mulkins, is a Canadian Forces Naval Reserve officer. Mulkins began her career in the Naval Reserve through a Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) at HMCS Donnacona. Originally joined as a Diesel Mechanic she later attended Junior Leadership Training at Canadian Forces Fleet School Esquimalt and was promoted to Naval Cadet Officer cadet is a rank held by military personnel during their training to become commissioned officers. Commodore (Cmdre; ) is a Canadian Forces rank used by commissioned officers of the Royal Canadian Navy. Brigadier-general is the equivalent rank in the Canadian Army and Royal Canadian Air Force. Michael Hopper (born March 1969) is a Canadian Armed Forces, Canadian Forces officer who served as commander of the Canadian Forces Naval Reserve, Naval Reserve from July 29, 2018 until 2021. The Canadian Forces' Decoration (post-nominal letters "CD") is a Canadian award bestowed upon members of the Canadian Armed Forces who have completed twelve years of military service, with certain conditions. By convention, it is also given to the governor general of Canada upon their appointment, which includes the title of Commander-in-Chief in and over Canada. The decoration is awarded to all ranks, who must have a good record of conduct during the final eight years of claimed service. The first governor general to receive the CD was Viscount Alexander of Tunis in 1951.
