Marshall Rogers (basketball)
Marshall Lee Rogers (August 27, 1953 – June 15, 2011) was an American professional basketball player and former NCAA basketball scoring champion with Pan American University. Basketball career High school Rogers attended Sumner High School in St. Louis, Missouri. He was on the Bulldogs 1969 Missouri Class L state champion basketball team as a reserve. In 1970 and 1971, Rogers led Sumner to consecutive Public High League titles. In his senior year he averaged 26.4 points per game and was named to the all-state team. In addition to basketball, Rogers was also an accomplished track athlete. He was the 1971 Missouri state champion in the triple jump. College A 6'1" guard from Pan American University and the University of Kansas. While at Kansas Rogers played in 18 games and averaged 7.6 ppg. In the sport of basketball, there are five players play per team, each assigned to positions. Historically, these players have been assigned, to positions defined by the role they play on the court, from a strategic point of view. The three main positions are guard, forward, and center, with the standard team featuring two guards, two forwards, and a center. Over time, as more specialized roles developed, each of the guards and forwards came to be differentiated, and today each of the five positions are known by unique names, each of which has also been assigned a number: point guard (PG) or 1, the shooting guard (SG) or 2, the small forward (SF) or 3, the power forward (PF) or 4, and the center (C) or 5. Abe Lemons
A.E. "Abe" Lemons (November 21, 1922 – September 2, 2002) was an American college basketball player and coach. As a head coach at Oklahoma City University, Pan American University and the University of Texas at Austin, he compiled a record of 594–343 in 34 seasons. Early life Lemons was born in Ryan, Oklahoma and given the initials-only name "A.E." He grew up in the town of Walters, Oklahoma and graduated from Walters High School in the spring of 1941. Lemons earned a basketball scholarship to play for Southwestern Oklahoma Teachers College (now known as Southwestern Oklahoma State University). and their long-time coach Rankin Williams. After the United States entered World War II in December 1941, Lemons joined the Merchant Marine.
