Marshall Goodman
Marshall Goodman (born January 31, 1971), known professionally as Ras MG (also known as MG, Field Marshall, Field, or Fields) is an American drummer, songwriter and producer. Career Sublime years: 1990–1992, 1994–1996 Goodman was the drummer of the Southern California-based music group Sublime from 1990 to 1992 and played on 14 of the 22 songs on the band's multi-platinum selling ''40oz to Freedom'' including " Date Rape," " Smoke Two Joints," " 54-46 That's My Number/Ball and Chain," and "Hope". Additionally, Goodman co-wrote the songs " Doin' Time" and " April 29, 1992 (Miami)" from Sublime's eponymous album. Long Beach Dub Allstars years: 1996–2002 In 1996, after Sublime's Bradley Nowell died, a group was formed to perform Sublime songs at "Enough Already," a benefit show. Courtney Adams
Courtney Adams (born June 5, 1981 in Houston, Texas) is an artist based in Hamburg, Germany. His style is flat, but a multi-dimensional style of painting called “Cubo-Expressionistic Primitivism” ( a mixture of French Cubism, German Expressionism and African Primitivism), in which he filed a copyright with the Library of Congress in the United States of America in 2002. His works are usually done in acrylic paint to produce a “factory made” look. After being discovered by famous Polish singer Aneta Barcik at a winter concert in Houston, Texas in 2010 (the year of Frédéric Chopin's bicentenary), Adams was chosen to become the art director for “Chopin 200th” a multi-media festival created by Barcik. The festival toured around Europe, most notably at the Eigenarten Festival in Germany. Bradley Nowell
Bradley James Nowell (February 22, 1968 – May 25, 1996) was an American musician and the lead singer and guitarist of the ska punk band Sublime. Born and raised in Belmont Shore, Long Beach, California, Nowell developed an interest in music at a young age. His father took him on a trip to Jamaica during his childhood years, which exposed him to reggae and dancehall music; he then gained a strong interest in rock music once he learned how to play guitar. Nowell played in various bands until forming Sublime with bassist Eric Wilson and drummer Bud Gaugh, whom he had met while attending California State University at Long Beach. In his lifetime, Sublime released the albums '' 40oz. to Freedom'' and ''Robbin' the Hood'' to critical and commercial success. "54-46 (That's My Number)" is a song by Fred "Toots" Hibbert, recorded by Toots and the Maytals, originally released on the Beverley's label in Jamaica and the Pyramid label in the UK. "Smoke Two Joints" is a song originally written by The Toyes, who performed it in traditional Reggae style and released it in 1983. According to The Toyes, "one fine fall day on a small island" of Oahu in Hawaii, two of the band members, Mawg and Sky, were sitting under a large banyan tree on Kuhio Beach, "tokin' on some sweet bud & jammin' on a rootsy reggae funky town" when they conceived the song "Smoke Two Joints." It was featured on the soundtrack for the 1998 American comedy-thriller film ''Homegrown''. The Toyes version was featured in the 2005 video game '' NARC''.
