Josef Markwart
Josef Markwart (originally spelled Josef Marquart: December 9, 1864 in Reichenbach am Heuberg – February 4, 1930 in Berlin) was a German historian and orientalist. He specialized in Turkish and Iranian Studies and the history of the Middle East. The ''Encyclopædia Iranica'' wrote that "His books are full of profound and nearly inexhaustible erudition, revealing that their author was a learned historian, philologist, geographer, and ethnologist." The encyclopedia cited his 1901 book ''Ērānšahr'' as "still an authoritative work and probably his most important." Biography He attended Tübingen University in Germany, where he studied Catholic theology, and then later switched his studies to classical philology and history. In 1889 he worked as an assistant to Eugen Prym, an orientalist author. His doctoral thesis ''Assyriaka des Ktesias'' was accepted and he graduated in 1892. Kyle Marquart is an American politician who served as a Republican member of the Missouri House of Representatives from 2023 to 2025, representing the state's 109th House district. Ludwig Clamor Marquart
Ludwig Clamor Marquart (29 March 1804 – 10 May 1881) was a German pharmacist and entrepreneur born in Osnabrück. As a teenager, he was a pharmacist's apprentice in the town of Dissen, and afterwards an assistant pharmacist in Lingen and Werden. Later he was an overseer of pharmacies in the district of Cologne, and in 1835 received a doctorate in pharmaceutical chemistry from the University of Heidelberg. In 1837 he started a private pharmaceutical institute in Bonn, where he taught classes until 1845. One of his students at the institute was renowned chemist Remigius Fresenius (1818-1897). In 1845 he founded in Bonn, ''Marquart's Lager chemischer Utensilien'', a factory that produced fine chemicals and pharmaceuticals. Today the operation in Bonn is part of Evonik; thus making it one of the oldest producers of chemicals in Germany. Paul Marquart
Paul Marquart (born January 9, 1957) is a Minnesota politician serving as state commissioner for the Department of Revenue. A former member of the Minnesota House of Representatives, he represented District 4B, which included parts of Becker, Clay, and Norman counties in the northwestern part of the state. He is also a teacher. Marquart was first elected to the House in 2000 and was reelected consistently until he retired in 2022. William Marquart
William Marquart (February 24, 1915 – June 13, 1960) was a Canadians, Canadian Boxing, boxer who competed in the 1936 Summer Olympics. He was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and died in Chicago, Illinois, United States. In 1936 he was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Boxing at the 1936 Summer Olympics - Men's featherweight, featherweight class after losing his fight to Dezső Frigyes.
