Maroon 5 Discography
American pop rock band Maroon 5 has released seven studio albums, three live albums, two compilation albums, one remix album, seven extended plays (EPs), 36 single (music), singles, eight promotional singles, and 43 music videos. The group originally formed in 1994 as Kara's Flowers while they were still attending high school. With a line-up of Adam Levine, Jesse Carmichael, Michael Madden (musician), Mickey Madden and Ryan Dusick, they released their independent album, ''We Like Digging?'' in 1994. In 1997, they signed to Reprise Records and released an album, ''The Fourth World (album), The Fourth World''. After a tepid response to the album, the band parted with their record label and attended college. In 2001, the band regrouped and added James Valentine (musician), James Valentine to the lineup, and pursued a new direction under the name Maroon 5. Maroon 5 is an American pop rock band from Los Angeles, California. It consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Adam Levine, rhythm guitarist and keyboardist Jesse Carmichael, lead guitarist James Valentine (musician), James Valentine, drummer Matt Flynn (musician), Matt Flynn, keyboardist PJ Morton, and bassist and sampler Sam Farrar. James Valentine (musician)
James Burgon Valentine (born October 5, 1978) is an American musician who is the lead guitarist and backing vocalist for the pop band Maroon 5. Early life Valentine was born in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was raised as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) and has three sisters and one brother. His mother is a former beauty queen, who was a school teacher before becoming a stay-at-home mom to raise her five children. His younger sister, Amanda Valentine, has been a contestant on ''Project Runway'' two times starring in Season 11 and Season 13, as well as '' Project Runway All Stars'' once in Season 6. James is an Eagle Scout. He was the president of his high school Lincoln Southeast High School's student council in Lincoln, Nebraska. "Makes Me Wonder" is a song by American pop rock band Maroon 5. It was released on March 27, 2007, as the first single from their second studio album, ''It Won't Be Soon Before Long'' (2007). Upon its release, the song set a record for the biggest jump to number-one in the history of the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart, rising from number 64 to number one. However, the record was later broken by Britney Spears' 2008 single, " Womanizer" which was broken by Kelly Clarkson's 2009 single, "My Life Would Suck Without You". It was released on May 16, 2007, by A&M Octone Records, as the follow-up to their debut album, '' Songs About Jane'' (2002). The name was inspired by a phrase the band adopted to keep themselves motivated while on their tour. Matt Flynn (musician)
Matthew Flynn (born May 23, 1970) is an American musician and record producer. He is the drummer for the pop band Maroon 5. In 2006, after being the band's touring drummer for two years, Flynn officially replaced the original drummer of Maroon 5, Ryan Dusick, who left the group due to serious wrist and shoulder injuries sustained from constant touring after the release of their first album, '' Songs About Jane'' in 2002. Prior to joining Maroon 5, Flynn has played drums for The B-52's, Gavin DeGraw and Gandhi. Early life Matt Flynn was born in Woodstock, New York. ''Live – Friday the 13th'' is a live DVD and CD release by Maroon 5. It was recorded on May 13, 2005 in Santa Barbara, California at the Santa Barbara Bowl. The DVD features exclusive interviews with the band and insight into how certain key songs came about. The live concert is a performance of all their songs and the CD contains the same tracks. This album has been released with the Copy Control protection system in some regions. "Wasted Years" first appeared on this album. The song, contrary to popular belief, was not written for '' Songs About Jane''.
