Marmorera (film)
''Marmorera'' is a 2007 Swiss film. It tells the fictitious story of the small Alpine village Marmorera, the identity of its inhabitants and a mysterious woman. The mystery film was filmed and produced in Switzerland. Plot (excerpt) Simon Cavegn's grandmother, mother and father were born in Marmorera. Cavegn and his wife ''Paula'' spend their honeymoon at the place of his family's origin. Taking some selfies, the newlyweds notice that a fisherman disappears on the '' Lai da Marmorera'', the reservoir of the Marmorera dam. At the same time, a young woman is lying in the fisherman's boat. Cavegn believes that he has rescued the mysterious woman, but when emergency services arrive, the young woman seems to be dead. During the transfer to the hospital in Savognin, the red-haired woman "awakes", and some mysterious events occur in the following days. Marmorera
Marmorera () is a village and former municipality in the Sursés in the district of Albula in the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland. On 1 January 2016 the former municipalities of Bivio, Cunter, Marmorera, Mulegns, Riom-Parsonz, Salouf, Savognin, Sur and Tinizong-Rona merged to form the new municipality of Surses. Until the end of the 19th century, its population was almost exclusively Romansh-speaking. This figure has however since been in decline, with its 2000 census reporting that 57% of the population now declared German as a first language. The old village was destroyed and flooded when the Marmorera dam was constructed. The current village was built above Lai da Marmorera. Limmat
The Limmat is a river in Switzerland. The river commences at the outfall of Lake Zurich, in the southern part of the city of Zurich. From Zurich it flows in a northwesterly direction, continuing a further 35 km until it reaches the river Aare. The confluence is located north of the small town of Brugg, Aargau, Brugg and shortly after the mouth of the Reuss (river), Reuss. The main towns along the Limmat Valley downstream of Zurich are Dietikon, Wettingen, and Baden, Switzerland, Baden. Weinegg is a quarter in District 8 of Zürich. Geography and demographics Weinegg was formerly a part of Riesbach municipality, which was incorporated into Zürich in 1893. The quarter has a population of 4,951 distributed on an area of 1.72 km². Enzenbühl and Rehalp cemeteries In 1902 ''Enzenbühl'' was, after the old ''Neumünster'' and ''Rehalp'' cemeteries, the third expansion phase for the growing needs of northeastern Zürich. Julier Pass
The Julier Pass ( Romansh: ''Pass dal Güglia'', German: ''Julierpass'', Italian ''Passo del Giulia'') (elev. 2284 m) is a mountain pass in the Albula Alps of Switzerland. It connects the Engadin valley with central Graubünden. At its summit, the pass crosses the drainage divide between the basins of the rivers Rhine and Danube. The Julier Pass lies between the towns of Bivio to the west and Silvaplana to the east. It is part of the Swiss N29 national road, but does not require a vignette (road tax sticker). The pass was heavily used in the Roman era and contains the most artifacts of Roman roads of any location in Graubünden. The modern road was built between 1820 and 1828. Between 1935 and 1940, the Julier Pass became the first Swiss alpine road paved with asphalt.
