Marlon Klein
Marlon Klein (born 13 December 1957) is a musician and producer in the World Music and Fusion genres. He is a co-founder of the German group Dissidenten. Career Klein was born in Herford, Germany. His musical career started with studies of classical percussion at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold. In the late 1970s he was one of the founders of the Real Ax Band, part of the independent music distributorship Schneeball (record label), Schneeball. Real Ax Band's song "Samba Mortale" became a success in Europe and in Brazilian clubs. In 1982 Klein co-founded Dissidenten with Uve Müllrich and Friedo Josch Klein. Together with the American Saxplayer Charlie Mariano and the South Indian Karnataka College of Percussion they gained worldwide attention. Following this project Klein and Dissidenten focussed on North Africa, working in collaboration with Moroccan musician Lem Chaheb. Herford (; ) is a town in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, located in the lowlands between the hill chains of the Wiehen Hills and the Teutoburg Forest. Spooky Tooth was a rock band originally formed in Carlisle, England, in 1967. The band was principally active between 1967 and 1974, and re-formed several times in later years. History Prior to Spooky Tooth, four of the band's five founding members had performed in the band Art (formerly known as the V.I.P.'s). Following the dissolution of Art, the members of that band's final line-up (guitarist Luther Grosvenor, vocalist Mike Harrison, drummer Mike Kellie and bassist Greg Ridley) joined forces with American keyboardist/vocalist Gary Wright in October 1967 and formed Spooky Tooth. Manfred Schoof
Manfred Schoof (born 6 April 1936) is a German jazz trumpeter. Career Schoof was born in Magdeburg, Germany. He studied music in Kassel and Cologne, where one of his teachers was the big band leader Kurt Edelhagen. Schoof performed on Edelhagen's radio program and toured with Gunter Hampel. In late 50s and early-mid 60, Schoof played with drummer Jaki Liebezeit, the future co-founder of krautrock band Can.
