Marlin Bay
''Marlin Bay'' was a New Zealand one-hour drama television series which ran for 39 episodes from 1992 to 1994. The series was set in a fictional resort and casino in the picturesque far north of New Zealand. The series dealt with issues regarding the high-flying lifestyle surrounding the hotel and casino, and the contrasting lives of the area's local residents. The cast included Ilona Rodgers, Andy Anderson, Katie Wolfe, and featured Kevin Smith and Lucy Lawless. It was produced by South Pacific Pictures. Greg McGee
Gregory William McGee is a New Zealand writer and playwright, who also writes crime fiction under the pseudonym Alix Bosco. Biography McGee was born in 1950 in the South Island town of Oamaru. In his early 20s McGee played rugby as a Junior All Black and became an All Black trialist. He graduated from the University of Otago with a law degree in 1972. In 1980 his first play, ''Foreskin's Lament'', a drama set in Rugby football, rugby changing rooms and at the after-match party, became an immediate success. The play shows the player nicknamed "Foreskin" and his attempt to fit in with university liberals and with rugby-playing conservatives. In New Zealand a rugby player is an everyman, and the game and play present a model of society in the end of the 1970s on the eve of the 1981 Springbok Tour. Don Selwyn
Don Charles Selwyn (22 November 1935 – 13 April 2007) was a Māori actor and filmmaker from New Zealand. He was a founding member of the New Zealand Māori Theatre Trust and directed the 2002 film '' Te tangata whai rawa o Weneti (The Maori Merchant of Venice)'', the first Māori language feature film with English subtitles. Life Born of Ngāti Kurī and Te Aupōuri descent, Selwyn grew up in Taumarunui and began his professional life as a teacher. In 1967, Selwyn acted in ''The Golden Lover'' at Downstage Theatre directed by Richard Campion alongside Wi Kuki Kaa and Bob Hirini. Also on stage produced by Downstage Theatre and directed by Campion and designed by Raymond Boyce, Selwyn was in ''Othello'' with a cast of 17 including Peter Vere-Jones and Elric Hooper in 1976. TVNZ 1 () is the first national television channel owned and operated by the state-owned broadcaster Television New Zealand (TVNZ). It is the oldest television broadcaster in New Zealand, starting out from 1960 as independent channels in the four main centres of Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin, networking in 1969 to become NZBC TV (although the individual facilities retained their call signs into the 1970s). Kevin Tod Smith (16 March 1963 – 15 February 2002) was a New Zealand actor and musician, best known for starring as the Greek God of war, Ares, in the TV series '' Hercules: The Legendary Journeys'' and in its two spin-offs – '' Xena: Warrior Princess'' and '' Young Hercules''.
