Markus Poukkula (born September 24, 1988) is a Finnish professional ice hockey player who currently playing for Brûleurs de Loups of the French Synerglace Ligue Magnus. Playing career Poukkula made his professional debut in his native Finland with JYP Jyväskylä of the then SM-liiga. After parts of 7 seasons within the Liiga, Poukkula left Finland as a mid-season transfer from the Espoo Blues Kiekko-Espoo is a Finnish professional ice hockey club founded in 2018 as a continuation of the Kiekko-Espoo team originally founded in 1984. The Brûleurs de Loups (French for ''Wolf Burners'') are a professional ice hockey team that play in Grenoble, France. History The club was founded in 1963 under the name Grenoble Hockey Club. Since 1992, the club has been known as the Brûleurs de Loups. The Brûleurs de Loups hockey team plays in the Ligue Magnus, the highest level in France. The Liiga, colloquially called the Finnish Elite League in English or FM-ligan in Swedish, is the top professional ice hockey league in Finland. The league comprises 16 teams from all around Finland with relegation and promotion between the Mestis. The winner of the Liiga playoffs is awarded the Kanada-malja at the end of each season. The Ligue Magnus, currently known as Synerglace Ligue Magnus for sponsorship reasons, is the top men's division of the French ice hockey pyramid, established in 1906. The league operated under a variety of names before taking that of its championship trophy, the Magnus Cup, in 2004. The trophy was in turn named for Frenchman and IIHF founder Louis Magnus.
