Bottighofen is a municipality in the district of Kreuzlingen in the canton of Thurgau in Switzerland. History There was a small, prehistoric lake-front settlement near the village. The modern village of Bottighofen is first mentioned in 830 as ''Pottinchovum''. The main landlord for the village, was the monastery of Münsterlingen, from the High Middle Ages until the 19th Century. Until 1798, it belonged to the bailiwick of Eggen. The 2006 Winter Olympics, officially the XX Olympic Winter Games ( it, XX Giochi olimpici invernali) and also known as Torino 2006, were a winter multi-sport event held from 10 to 26 February 2006 in Turin, Italy.
