History Formation and Nuclear Blast-era (1988–2002) The band formed in Stockholm in 1988. After a hiatus, during which several members joined Carnage, the band began recording in earnest in 1991 and released their debut album '' Like an Ever Flowing Stream'' that year. The album is today heralded as a milestone for the burgeoning Swedish death metal scene and established the band's fanbase, which was further bolstered by the controversy surrounding one song in particular, "Skin Her Alive". The song prompted an obscenity charge in the United Kingdom, against which the band successfully defended themselves.Mudrian, ch. 6, "Mass Appeal Madness", p. 181. Satyricon is a Norwegian black metal band formed in Oslo in 1991. Satyr and Frost have been the band's core members since 1993, and its only official members since 1997. The band's first three albums typify the Norwegian black metal style. Satyricon was the first Norwegian black metal band to join a multi-national record label (EMI). History The band were formed in 1990 as EczemaPowaviolenza: by the bassist Wargod and drummer Exhurtum. The Fire And The Wind
''The Fire And The Wind'' is the final album of the New Zealand heavy metal music, heavy metal band Demoniac, the only one to be recorded following their relocation to London. The black metal sound of the previous two albums was almost completely eschewed on this recording, with only vocalist Behemoth's shrieking vocals alluding to the genre. The music is otherwise very similar to DragonForce, the band Heimdall and Shred would go on to form after Demoniac's split. The note progression in the DragonForce song ''Soldiers of the Wastelands first sung portion is very similar to the note progression from 2:26 to 2:45 in the song ''The Eagle Spreads Its Wings''. The chorus of the song "Myths of Metal" included the words Sieg Heil and "Hitler Metal", which resulted in the album being banned in Germany, despite the band's apologetic explanation that the song was in tribute to 1980s Teutonic thrash metal, German thrash metal.
