Marko Kartelo
Marko Kartelo (born 16 February 1981) is a Croatian professional football manager and former player who was most recently the manager of Prva HNL club HNK Šibenik. Playing career Club In January 2012, Kartelo terminated his contract with Šibenik through arbitration. In February 2012 he signed a sixth-month contract with Israeli club Hapoel Haifa. He later had a spell at German lower league side SV 1910 Neuhof. Managerial career Kartelo started his managerial career being appointed head coach of Treća HNL club NK Vodice on 11 November 2019. On 2 January 2020, he was fired from the club and replaced by Boris Pavić. On 12 February 2022 following the sacking of Ferdo Milin after 0–5 home defeat to Hrvatski Dragovoljac, Kartelo was appointed caretaker manager of Prva HNL club HNK Šibenik. Šibenik () is a historic city in Croatia, located in central Dalmatia, where the river Krka flows into the Adriatic Sea. The Druga nogometna liga ( eng, Second football league), commonly Druga NL or 2. NL) is the third tier of the football league system. The league was established in 1991 following the dissolution of the Yugoslav League. It is operated by the Croatian Football Federation. It was previously known as the Third Football League, but was renamed with the other leagues for the start of the 2022–23 season. The 2021–22 Croatian First Football League (officially Hrvatski Telekom Prva liga for sponsorship reasons) is the 31st season of the Croatian First Football League, the national championship for men's association football teams in Croatia, since its establishment in 1992. The season started on 16 July 2021. The league is contested by 10 teams. Teams On 23 April 2021, Croatian Football Federation announced that the first stage of licensing procedure for 2020–21 season was complete. Nogometni klub Istra 1961 ( en, Istra 1961 Football Club), commonly referred to as NK Istra 1961, or simply Istra 1961 or Istra, is a Croatian professional football club from Pula, currently playing in the Croatian First League. It is a common opinion amongst many people that ''Istra 1961'' was founded in 1961 by merging two clubs from Pula, NK Uljanik and NK Pula, forming NK Istra. However, NK Istra is not the same club as NK Istra 1961. NK Istra 1961, then named NK Uljanik, was founded in 1964. NK Istra were competing in Prva HNL since the first season, but were relegated in the 1996–97 season to Druga HNL.
