Markazi Province
Markazi province () is one of the 31 provinces of Iran. Its capital is the city of Arak. The present borders of the province date to 1977, when the province was split into the current Markazi and Tehran provinces, with portions being annexed by Isfahan, Semnan, and Zanjan Provinces. In 2014, the province was placed in Region 4. History Markazi province was part of the Median Empire in the first millennium BC, which included all of the central and western parts of modern-day Iran. The region is considered to be one of the ancient settlements on the Iranian plateau. Numerous remaining ruins testify to the antiquity of this area. In the early centuries of Islam, the name of the area was changed to '' Jibal'' or ''Kuhestan''. Markazi Rural District
Markazi Rural District () is in the Central District of Dashti County, Bushehr province, Iran. Its capital is the village of Bowheyri. Demographics Population At the time of the 2006 National Census, the rural district's population was 5,331 in 1,203 households. There were 5,784 inhabitants in 1,526 households at the following census of 2011. The 2016 census measured the population of the rural district as 6,354 in 1,800 households. The most populous of its 13 villages was Mohammadabad, with 2,547 people. Markazi Bihsud District
Markazi Behsud District () is one of the districts of Maidan Wardak Province in Afghanistan. It is located less than an hour-drive west of Kabul and south Bamyan. The main town in the district is Behsud. The district has an estimated population of 134,852 people, majority of which are ethnic Hazaras. The Markazi Behsud is the largest district of Maidan Wardak Province with a number of villages. Most residents of the district are farmers and involved in agriculture. The chief of the district is Abdul Rahman Tawfiq. The Hesa Awal Behsud District sits to the northeast of this district. Both are strongholds of Hazara militia forces who have engaged in guerrilla warfare with the Taliban and the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF). Markazi Masjid
The Markazi Masjid ("Central Mosque"), also known as the Dewsbury Markaz or ''Dar ul Ulum'' ("House of Knowledge"), is a mosque in the Savile Town area of Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, England. With a maximum capacity of 4,000, it is one of the largest mosques in Europe. It is the European headquarters of the Tablighi Jamaat movement, and also houses one of the two main Islamic seminaries in the UK. The mosque serves as a centre for Tablighi Jamaat's missionary activity throughout Europe. It was also the location of the Institute of Islamic Education (), a private day and boarding faith school for boys aged 13–25 However the school formally closed in January 2023. Arash Markazi
Arash Markazi (born 1980) is an American sports journalist and sports media personality. Markazi attended the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication Arizona State University and later the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Southern California. He graduated with a degree in Print Journalism from USC in 2004. While at USC he won the Allan Malamud Memorial Scholarship and the Jim Murray Memorial Scholarship, named after the two former sports columnists at the Los Angeles Times. He later became an adjunct professor at USC and was on the board of directors for the Jim Murray Memorial Foundation. Markazi was hired by Sports Illustrated out of college and began writing stories for the magazine as a staff writer as well penning a weekly column for ''Sports Illustrated''’s website SI.com, which led to the Los Angeles Times naming him one of the Faces to Watch in 2006.
