Markazi Jamiat Ahle Hadith (MJAH) is a religious organization and political party in Pakistan, founded in 1947 by Dawood Ghaznavi and Muhammad Ibrahim Mir Sialkoti. History Formation Jamiat Ahle Hadith was launched as a political party in 1986 by leader Ehsan Elahi Zaheer. A year later, In 1987, Ehsan Elahi Zaheer was killed. Split into Markazi Jamiat Ahle Hadith (MJAH) and Jamiat Ahle Hadith Pakistan (Elahi Zaheer) (JAHP) and remerge In 1987, following Zaheer's death, JAH later splits up into 2 main factions, namely Markazi Jamiat Ahle Hadith (MJAH) led by Sajid Mir (politician), Sajid Mir and another faction led by Ehsan Elahi Zaheer's son Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer namely Jamiat Ahle Hadith Pakistan (Elahi Zaheer) (JAHP). Jamiat Ahle Hadith Jammu and Kashmir () is a Salafi organization based in Srinagar, in Indian-administrated Jammu and Kashmir. The main motive of the organisation is to practice and propagate the Ahl-i Hadith movement. The organization has followers across Kashmir. It has many educational centers across the state imparting the Islamic education and some schools operating under Jammu & Kashmir Board of School Education (such as the Madaris Muhammadia). Sajid Mir (born 1976 or 1978) is a Pakistani national and a member of the militant organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba. Mir was the chief planner of the 2008 Mumbai attacks, and has also managed the tasks of the 'foreign affairs' of Lashkar-e-Taiba's international wing. Sajid Mir was initially claimed to be a fictitious character by Pakistan, but was revealed by French magistrate Jean-Louis Bruguière, in a statement to journalist Sebastian Rotella, as a real person. Sajid Mir (politician)
Sajid Mir (2 October 1938 – 3 May 2025) was a Pakistani politician and Islamic scholar who served as the second emir of Markazi Jamiat Ahle Hadith from 1987 until his death in 2025. He was also a member of the Senate of Pakistan and served, as chairperson of the Senate Committee on Science and Technology. Early life and education Mir was born on 2 October 1938 into a religious Kashmiri family in Sialkot, Punjab, Pakistan. He is a relative of the prominent scholar Muhammad Ibrahim Mir Sialkoti. Allama Ihsan Ilahi Zahir (31 May 194530 March 1987) was a Pakistani Islamic scholar who was the founder and first emir of Markazi Jamiat Ahle Hadith from 1986 until his assassination in 1987. Zahir was the editor of ''Tarjuman al-Hadith'' and was considered one of the leading anti-Shia theologians in Pakistan. Muhammad Ibrahim Mir Sialkoti (; 12 January 1956) was a Pakistani Islamic scholar of the Ahl-i Hadith. He was a muhaddith, khatib, historian, journalist, writer, religious activist and activist of the Pakistan Movement. He was also an expert on (Quranic exegesis) and (jurist in jurisprudence) and wrote several books. Mir is considered one of the partisans of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan and Sanaullah Amritsari. In 1945, when Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam was established, Shabbir Ahmad Usmani was its president while Sialkoti was its vice president. Its first meeting was held in Calcutta. Muhammad Daud Ghaznavi (better known as Dawood Ghaznavi or Daud Ghaznavi; 1895 – 16 December 1963), was an Islamic scholar, journalist, teacher, writer and politician in British India and a leader of the Indian independence movement.
