Mark Of The Lash
''Mark of the Lash'' is a 1948 American Western film starring Lash LaRue and Al "Fuzzy" St. John and directed by Ray Taylor. Produced and co-written by Ron Ormond, the film was shot at the Jack Ingram Movie Ranch. Plot Town boss Lance Taggart controls both the law and the water supply of the area using the former to keep the latter. After Taggart's men kill peace officers sent to investigate him, Marshal Lash Larue and Fuzzy bring Taggart and his gang to justice. Ray Taylor (director)
Raymond Edgar Taylor (1 December 1888 – 15 February 1952) was an American film director. He directed 159 films between 1926 and 1949. His debut was the 1926 film serial '' Fighting with Buffalo Bill''. Ray Taylor was one of the few Hollywood directors who specialized in a single type of film: he was an action specialist. Many action directors would be called upon at one time or another to direct a mainstream drama, romance, or mystery, but Ray Taylor established himself early in westerns and action fare, and he worked in this capacity throughout his career. Even a brief tenure directing the campus-capers "Collegians" shorts for Universal was appropriate for Taylor, as these two-reel subjects often emphasized visual action. Tom London (born Leonard T. Clapman; August 24, 1889 – December 5, 1963) was an American actor who played frequently in B-Westerns. According to ''The Guinness Book of Movie Records'', London is credited with appearing in the most films in the history of Hollywood, according to the 2001 book ''Film Facts'', which says that the performer who played in the most films was "Tom London, who made his first of over 2,000 appearances in '' The Great Train Robbery, 1903''. Lee Roberts (June 17, 1913 – April 24, 1989) was an American film actor during the Hollywood Golden Age. Sometimes he is credited as Robert Allen or Lee J. Roberts. Career Little is known about this man who appeared in over 100 films between 1943 and 1959, according to the Internet Movie Database. Roberts, whose career of portraying good guys and bad guys spanned virtually the entire range of Columbia and Republic serials production, delighted serial fans as the classic ''action heavy'', but he could play sympathetic roles with equal skills as a sheriff or a police detective. Marshall Jewel Reed (May 28, 1917 – April 15, 1980) was an American actor who appeared in over 200 films between 1943 and 1978. He was born in Englewood, Colorado. Ron Ormond (August 29, 1910 – May 11, 1981) was an American author, showman, screenwriter, film producer, and film director of Western, musical, and exploitation horror films. Following his survival of a 1968 plane crash, Ormond began making Christian films. Early life Ron Ormond was born either Victor Narro or Naro (no birth certificate has been located; it has been erroneously reported that his birth name was Vittorio Di Naro, when in fact this was just a humorous film-making alias). He took his surname from his friend, magician and hypnotist Ormond McGill.
