Mark Washington (Canadian Football)
Mark Washington (born April 16, 1973) is the defensive coordinator for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He is also a retired professional Canadian football defensive back in the CFL, having played for the Montreal Alouettes and the BC Lions over 11 seasons. After his retirement, he joined the Lions as the defensive backs coach, and was promoted to defensive coordinator for the 2014 BC Lions season. College career Washington attended Rutgers University. As a junior at Rutgers, he was an All-Big East performer, and as a senior, he was the team captain. Professional career Washington began his pro career with the Barcelona Dragons of NFL Europa, where he won a World Bowl in 1997. He played six seasons for the Montreal Alouettes, from 1997 to 2002, recording nine interceptions (and returning two for touchdowns) and winning a Grey Cup in 2002. NFL Europe League (simply called NFL Europe and known in its final season as NFL Europa League) was a professional American football league that functioned as the developmental minor league of the National Football League (NFL). Originally founded in 1989 as the World League of American Football (or WLAF), the league was envisioned as a transatlantic league encompassing teams from both North America and Europe. The Ottawa Redblacks (officially stylized as REDBLACKS) (French: Le Rouge et Noir d'Ottawa) are a professional Canadian football team based in Ottawa, Ontario. Farhan Lalji is a Vancouver-based sports reporter and the Vancouver Bureau Reporter for TSN's SportsCentre. He previously anchored '' SportsDesk'' between 1997 and 2000.
