Mark Shepherd (businessman)
Mark Shepherd Jr. (January 18, 1923 – February 4, 2009) was the chairman and chief executive officer of Texas Instruments. He was in attendance at the demonstration of the integrated circuit by Jack Kilby on September 12, 1958. Biography Shepherd was born in Dallas, Texas on January 18, 1923, where his father was a police officer. He started private school as a three-year-old and constructed a vacuum tube at the age of six and a radio when he was seven, graduating from high school at the age of 14. He attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, where he was awarded a bachelor's degree with honors in electrical engineering, and earned a master's degree at the University of Illinois. He served in the United States Navy, where he specialized in radar and electronics systems on the USS ''Tucson'', completing his service with the rank of lieutenant. Mark Allen Shepherd (born January 7, 1961) is an actor, best known for his role as Morn (Star Trek), Morn on ''Star Trek: Deep Space Nine''. He also appeared as Morn (uncredited) in one episode each of ''Star Trek: The Next Generation'' and ''Star Trek: Voyager''. Biography and career Shepherd received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Roger Williams University in Rhode Island. After graduation, he moved to Southern California and studied at the California Institute of the Arts, focusing on music, film, theater, performance, and interdisciplinary arts. Shepherd is an artist and has created numerous abstract impressionist paintings, mixed media, mixing media types into photomosaics. Twenty-four of his works have been used as set dressing on ''Star Trek: Deep Space Nine''. Shepherd is also a member of Plural Dolt, an absurdist music theater group based in Los Angeles. Mark Shepherd (September 21, 1961 – May 24, 2011) was an American fantasy novelist and musician. Life and career Born Robert Marky Shepherd on September 21, 1961 in Tampa, Florida, during the 1990s Shepherd was a writing protégé and live-in personal secretary of author Mercedes Lackey and artist Larry Dixon at Highflight, their Tulsa, Oklahoma residence. He co-authored two novels with Lackey, and composed music to accompany his later books. He also wrote several short stories. Shepherd's secretarial duties at Highflight were taken over by Englishman Paul Fisher in 2000. During his later years, Mark founded Pagan Sanctum Recovery, a 12-step group for Pagans recovering from addictions of all kinds. Death He committed suicide by shooting himself on May 24, 2011. Mark I. Shepard (born 1960) is a former Vermont State Senator ( R-Bennington) and unsuccessful candidate for the 2006 Republican nomination for Vermont's at-large United States House of Representatives seat. Biography Shepard was born on September 12, 1960, in Windsor, Vermont, and grew up in the neighboring town of Hartland.
