Mark Neuman
Mark A. Neuman (born August 12, 1959) was a Republican member of the Alaska House of Representatives, representing the 15th District from 2005 to 2020. He served as the co-chair of the Resources Committee, vice-chair of the Labor & Commerce Committee as well as the Rules Committee, Economic Development, Trade & Tourism Special Committee, the Cook Inlet Salmon Task Force, and the Legislative Budget & Audit Committee. He was on the Commerce, Community & Economic Development, Corrections, Education & Early Development, and the Natural Resources Finance Subcommittee for the 26th Legislature. Neuman is a designer and builder of custom fine furniture. Personal life Neuman has a wife, Adel and two children, Matthew and Amanda. Beverly Masek
Beverly L. "Bev" Masek (née Jerue) (born September 30, 1963) is an Alaska Native and an American former dog sled racer, and businesswoman. She was a Republican politician who served in the state legislature for several terms. Early life, education and career Beverly Jerue was born in Anvik, Alaska in 1963 to an Alaska Native family. She attended local schools, graduating from Anvik High School. "Bev" married Jan Masek, an immigrant from Czechoslovakia. Together the couple have owned a racing dog kennel and a lodge. Jerue worked as a bookkeeper. Jerue had learned about sled dogs from childhood. She was active in dog sled racing from the early 1980s to the early 1990s, competing five times in the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race. She finished the race four times, including as 21st in 1991 and 23rd the next year. David Nelson (Alaska Politician)
David Nelson (born August 13, 1996) is an American politician who is a member of the Alaska House of Representatives from the 18th district. A Republican, he previously represented the 15th district from 2021 to 2023. He was defeated by Democrat Cliff Groh in 2022, but defeated Groh for the seat in 2024. Early life and education Nelson was born in Orlando, Florida, and raised in Sanford, Florida. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from University of Alaska Anchorage in 2018. During college, he was a member of the Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps. Career After graduating from college, Nelson was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Alaska Army National Guard. He serves as a CBRN officer for in 207th Aviation Regiment at Joint Base Elmendorf–Richardson.
