Mark Holmes is an American independent filmmaker. Holmes cofounded the San Diego–based film company Daisy 3 Pictures in 2004 with writer and director James Vasquez and actress Carrie Preston, and is responsible for the company's general operations. Mark Holmes (musician)
Mark Holmes (born July 26, 1960) is a British-Canadian musician. He is best known as the lead vocalist of the Canadian rock band Platinum Blonde. He also co-founded the Mod Club Theatre, an entertainment venue in Toronto that operated from 2002 to 2020. Early life Mark Holmes emigrated from Mansfield, England to Canada in 1977. As a youth he had hopes of becoming a professional soccer player. Once in Toronto, he attended commercial art college, apprenticed in hairdressing and played in bands on the side. Career In 1979, Holmes, along with musicians Joey Ciotti and Ray Bailie, formed Platinum Blonde, a punk and new wave band. Holmes provided vocals and guitar, Ciotti vocals and bass guitar, and Bailie on drums. They played songs by such artists as Marc Bolan, Gary Glitter and The Police. ''Gerbert'' is an American Christian-themed children's television series produced by Brad Smith and created by Andy Holmes. The Gerbert series was co-produced by HSH Educational Media and CBN in 1987. HSH Educational Media was owned by Brad Smith and his brother Chris Christian. Chris Christian and Brad Smith were the executive producers of all the Gerbert TV shows. The Gerbert TV show first aired on the CBN Cable Network, which later changed its name to CBN Family Channel and The Family Channel. The first shows were taped in Virginia Beach, Virginia at the CBN studios and all other shows were taped in Irving, Texas, at the Studios at Las Colinas. Broadcast ''Gerbert'' first aired in the mornings on the CBN Family Channel (now Freeform) from May 1, 1988, to December 25, 1991, and was also sold as a direct-to-video series in Wal-Mart and Christian book stores.
