Mark Fletcher Jr.
Mark Fletcher Jr. (born October 17, 2004) is an American football running back for the Miami Hurricanes. High school career Fletcher attended American Heritage School in Plantation, Florida. As a senior, he rushed for 1,934 yards and 23 touchdowns. Fletcher originally committed to Ohio State, before decommitting during his senior year. A four-star recruit, he committed to play college football at the University of Miami over an offer from Florida. College career Fletcher earned immediate playing time as a freshman, rushing for the game-winning touchdown in overtime against Virginia. Against NC State, he rushed for a then career-high 115 yards in a 20–6 loss. In the 2023 Pinstripe Bowl, Fletcher suffered a Lisfranc injury, being carted off the field. A running back (RB) is a member of the offensive backfield in gridiron football. Lisfranc Injury
A Lisfranc injury, also known as Lisfranc fracture, is an injury of the foot in which one or more of the metatarsal bones are displaced from the tarsus. The injury is named after Jacques Lisfranc de St. Martin, a French surgeon and gynecologist who noticed this fracture pattern amongst cavalrymen in 1815, after the War of the Sixth Coalition. Causes The midfoot consists of five bones that form the arches of the foot (the cuboid, navicular, and three cuneiform bones) and their articulations with the bases of the five metatarsal bones. It is these articulations that are damaged in a Lisfranc injury.
