Marjorie Rhodes
Marjorie Rhodes (9 April 1897 – 4 July 1979) was a British actress. She was born Millicent Wise in Kingston upon Hull, Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire. Career One of her better-known roles was as Lucy Fitton, the mother in Bill Naughton's play ''All in Good Time (play), All in Good Time''. She played the role on Broadway, for which she was nominated for a Tony Award in 1965. She reprised the role in the 1966 film version, titled ''The Family Way''. Steptoe and Son,"A Box In Town" 1963. She was featured singing a track "The World Is for the Young" with Stanley Holloway in the Herman's Hermits 1968 film ''Mrs. Brown, You've Got a Lovely Daughter (film), Mrs. Brown, You've Got A Lovely Daughter''. Kingston upon Hull, usually shortened to Hull, is a historic maritime city and unitary authorities of England, unitary authority area in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. ''Z-Cars'' or ''Z Cars'' (pronounced "zed cars") is a British television police procedural series centred on the work of mobile uniformed police and CID detectives in the fictional town of Newtown, based on Kirkby, near Liverpool. It tells of how the residents of a small English village collaborate when the nest of a pair of rare tawny pipits is discovered there. It is one of the first films to have a nature conservation theme: with one scene featuring a girl standing in front of a line of Covenanter tanks to prevent military training from disturbing the birds. Balanced against the conservation themes it also includes now-illegal practices, such as collecting rare bird eggs.
