Marjatta Raita
Marjatta Raita (17 February 1944, Pori – 27 September 2007) was a Finnish actress, who was best known for her role as Elisabeth Turhapuro in the Uuno Turhapuro movies directed by Spede Pasanen. Raita also appeared in many other films, although she acted mainly in theater. She studied in a theater school in 1962–1965. Born in Pori, Marjatta Raita's parents were Eino and Valli Raita, both actors. She was married to Finnish actor Aarno Sulkanen, by whom she had two children. Elisabeth Unelma Turhapuro (née Tuura) is a fictional character played by Marjatta Raita in Finnish comedy films, the Uuno Turhapuro series, directed by Spede Pasanen and Ere Kokkonen. She is part of the cast who appear in all Uuno Turhapuro films and TV series. The exception being '' Uuno Turhapuron veli'', where the main character Uuno Turhapuro played by Vesa-Matti Loiri did not appear. Uuno debuted in 1973 in a sketch on the ''Spede Show'', as half of a still nameless couple who had a premature argument about how to use their lottery money. Uuno Turhapuro is a Finnish comedy character created by Spede Pasanen and played by Vesa-Matti Loiri. Originally appeared in ''Spede Show'' during 1971–1973, the character gained popularity through the Uuno Turhapuro films. Dramatis personae Uuno Daavid Goljat Turhapuro is a ragged man, characterised by his tattered string vest, sparse row of teeth and untidy face, perhaps depicting a Finnish stereotype of a loser. Pertti Olavi "Spede" Pasanen (10 April 1930 – 7 September 2001) was a Finnish film director and producer, comedian, and inventor. During his career he directed, wrote, produced or acted in about 50 movies and participated in numerous TV productions, including the comedy ''Spede Show'' and the game-show ''Speden Spelit''. Much of his more commercial work was in collaboration with Vesa-Matti Loiri (whose most popular character created by Pasanen was Uuno Turhapuro; first in TV sketches and then in a long-lasting series of motion pictures) and Simo Salminen. Vaḷḷi ( ta, வள்ளி) ("Creeper, Sweet potato plant") is a Hindu goddess, and the second consort of the deity Murugan.
