Marit Trætteberg, née Krogstad (28 September 1930 – 27 October 2009) was a Norwegian chemist. She was born in Ålesund. She graduated from the Norwegian Institute of Technology with the siv.ing. degree in 1954, and was hired as a lecturer in 1962. Marit Sandvik (born 19 July 1956) is a Norwegian jazz singer. She is notable for winning the Stubøprisen award, given to a Norwegian jazz singer, in 1993, and the Nordlysprisen award, given to a contributor to the music of Northern Norway, in 2011. She was born in Harstad. Career Sandvik has participated in numerous vocal and jazz groups in Harstad, Trondheim and Tromsø. In 1993, Sandvik established the sextet "Bossa Nordpå" including Helge Sveen, Henning Gravrok, Øystein Norvoll, Oddmund Finnseth and Finn Sletten. Marit Rotnes (6 April 1928 – 27 March 2022) was a Norwegian politician for the Norwegian Labour Party. She was born in Oslo and was educated first as secretary and then as social worker, and was a member of the Storting from 1981 to 1993, representing Sør-Trøndelag. Early and personal life Rotnes was born in Oslo on 6 April 1928, a daughter of Erling Gulbrandsen and Harriet Glende. She graduated as secretary in 1948, and worked as stenographer from 1948 to 1952, and then as office assistant in Lillestrøm from 1952 to 1956. She graduated in social work from Norges Kommunal- og Sosialhøyskole in 1958, and from 1962 to 1967 she was appointed as social worker in Skedsmo and in Nord-Trøndelag. After a period as a farmer's wife, she was again social worker, in Fosen and Åfjord. In 1977, she was appointed director of social affairs in Åfjord. Marit Eli Paulsen (; 24 November 1939 – 25 July 2022) was a Norwegian-born Swedish journalist, author and politician for the Liberals. She was a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) from 1999 to 2004 and from 2009 to 2015. She was a well-known figure in the Swedish public debate on environmental and food quality issues, initially as a non-partisan, and was an avid proponent of Swedish membership in the European Union during the EU membership referendum campaign in 1994. Marit Nybakk (born 14 February 1947, in Nord-Odal) is a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party, a former First Vice-president of the Norwegian Parliament, the Storting, and a former President of the Nordic Council. From 2016 to 2018 she was President of the Norwegian Association for Women's Rights, the preeminent women's and girls' rights organisation in Norway. A pragmatic social democrat and a proponent of the Third Way, she became a Member of Parliament in 1986 as the substitute for Gro Harlem Brundtland when the latter became prime minister.
