Mario Sanchez (born October 31, 1994) is a Venezuelan professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent. He has previously played in the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) for the Uni-President Lions and CTBC Brothers, and in the KBO League for the Kia Tigers. Career Washington Nationals On July 26, 2012, Sanchez signed with the Washington Nationals as a free agent, at the age of 17. He spent his first two professional seasons with the rookie–level Dominican Summer League Nationals, accumulating a 3.00 ERA with 64 strikeouts in 26 total games. In 2014, Sanchez pitched in 18 games for the Low–A Auburn Doubledays, recording a 4.11 ERA with 25 strikeouts and 3 saves across 35 innings of work. Harrisburg Senators
The Harrisburg Senators are a Minor League Baseball team who play in the Eastern League, and are the Double-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals. The team is based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and play their home games at FNB Field on City Island, which opened in 1987 and has a seating capacity of 6,187. The "Senators" nickname refers to the host city being the state's capital and thus home of the Pennsylvania legislature. The Auburn Doubledays are a collegiate summer baseball team of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL) that is located in Auburn, New York. From 1958 to 2020, they were members of Minor League Baseball's New York–Penn League (NYPL). They have played their home games at Leo Pinckney Field at Falcon Park since 1995. They previously played at the original Falcon Park, which was built in 1927 on the same site. The team is owned and operated by Auburn Community Baseball. In Major League Baseball, a player to be named later (PTBNL) is an unnamed player involved in exchange or "trade" of players between teams. The terms of a trade are not finalized until a later date, most often following the conclusion of the season. Postponing a trade's final conditions or terms is often done for several reasons. First, the team receiving the PTBNL might not be certain which position they want to fill, so this type of deal gives them more time to figure it out. Second, this type of arrangement gives the team receiving the PTBNL more time to evaluate the available talent on the other team.
