Marinus (crater)
Marinus is a lunar impact crater that is located near the southeastern limb of the Moon. At this location it is viewed at an oblique angle from the Earth, limiting the amount of detail that can be observed. It lies due north of the slightly larger and dark-floored crater Oken. To the east is the northern part of the Mare Australe. This is a considerably worn crater, although it retains its generally circular formation. A pair of smaller craters overlies most of the south-southeastern rim. Attached to the northwestern rim is Marinus R, and the crater intrudes into Marinus B to the west. David Mitchell (author)
David Stephen Mitchell (born 12 January 1969) is an English novelist, screenwriter, and translator. He has written nine novels, two of which, ''number9dream'' (2001) and ''Cloud Atlas (novel), Cloud Atlas'' (2004), were shortlisted for the Booker Prize. He has also written articles for several newspapers, most notably for ''The Guardian''. He has translated books about autism from Japanese to English. Early life Mitchell was born in Southport in Lancashire (now Merseyside), England, and raised in Malvern, Worcestershire. He was educated at Hanley Castle High School. At the University of Kent, he earned a degree in English and American Literature, followed by an Master of Arts, M.A. in Comparative literature, Comparative Literature.
