Marina 106
Marina 106, also known as the 106 Tower, is a supertall residential skyscraper, partially constructed but currently on hold, in Dubai, UAE. The building is planned to rise in the Dubai Marina, with 106 floors. The building was originally planned to be completed in 2019. Marina 106 was designed by the National Engineering Bureau, and is being developed by London Gate. History Marina 106 was proposed in 2008 as a tower. Groundbreaking occurred in 2009. However, the foundation was not completed before the 2009 Dubai debt standstill and the ensuing property bust put the project on hold. During this period, the project was redesigned, gaining to become 445 m. Construction restarted on December 2, 2013, but it was halted again on April 11, 2017. Dubai Marina (), also known as Marsa Dubai, is a district in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is built around an artificially constructed canal along a stretch of the Persian Gulf shoreline. In 2018 it had a population of 55,052. The district can accommodate over 120,000 people, and is located on Interchange 5 between Jebel Ali Port and the area which hosts Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City, and the American University in Dubai. The Dubai Marina was inspired by the Concord Pacific Place development along False Creek in Vancouver, Canada. Standing 101 stories high and tall, it is the second tallest building in the United Arab Emirates, behind only the Burj Khalifa.
