Marikina (), officially the City of Marikina (), is a highly urbanized city in the National Capital Region of the Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 456,159 people. Located along the eastern border of Metro Manila, Marikina is the main gateway of Metro Manila to Rizal and Quezon provinces through Marikina–Infanta Highway. It is bordered on the west by Quezon City, to the south by Pasig and Cainta, to the north by San Mateo, and to the east by Antipolo, the capital of Rizal province. It was founded by the Jesuits on the fertile Marikina Valley in 1630 and the area was called Jesus dela Peña (Jesus of the Rocks) and later on called Mariquina. Stella Luz Alabastro Quimbo (born Stella Luz Fagela Alabastro; November 23, 1969) is a Filipino politician and academic who has served as the representative for Marikina's second district since 2019. She previously served as a commissioner of the Philippine Competition Commission (PCC) from 2016 until her resignation in 2019. She was a mayoral candidate in the 2025 Marikina local elections. Marjorie Ann Teodoro
Marjorie Ann "Maan" Ang Teodoro (born January 11, 1981) is a Filipino politician who is the mayor-elect of Marikina. Before being elected mayor, she had served as the representative for Marikina's first district since 2022. Educated at the University of Santo Tomas, Teodoro taught at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Marikina. She entered politics in 2019 as the first nominee of the Adhikain Tinaguyod ng Kooperatiba (Ating-Koop) Partylist, which failed to secure a seat in the House of Representatives. Marion Santos Andres (born July 25, 1958) is a Filipino politician, physician, and retired military doctor who has served as vice mayor of Marikina since 2019 under Mayor Marcelino Teodoro. Rommel "Kambal" Santos Acuña (born March 7, 1973) is a Filipino politician who has served as the acting mayor of Marikina since March 2025, after the Office of the Ombudsman suspended Marcelino Teodoro from office. Marcelino "Marcy" Reyes Teodoro (born August 2, 1970) is a Filipino politician and former publisher who is the representative-elect for Marikina's first district. He previously held the seat from 2007 to 2016 and has served as the mayor of Marikina since 2016.
