Mariel Galdiano
Mariel Lancy Galdiano (born June 25, 1998) is an American professional golfer. At age 13 she was the youngest golfer at the 2011 U.S. Women's Open. Galdiano made the cut at the 2015 U.S. Women's Open. She won her sectional qualifier to earn entry into the tournament. Galdiano is a three-time Hawaii High School Athletic Association champion. Galdiano won the 2015 Canadian Women's Amateur. At the 2017 Summer Universiade (World University Games), Galdiano won the gold medal in the individual event and led the United States to the team gold medal. Galdiano turned professional in 2020. In December 2024, Galdiano earned her LPGA Tour card for 2025 by finishing T-13 at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament. Junior Solheim Cup
The Junior Solheim Cup is a version of the Solheim Cup for girls aged 12 to 18. It was inaugurated in 2002. It is currently officially called the Ping (golf), PING Junior Solheim Cup. The Junior Solheim Cup follows a similar format to The Solheim Cup and features the top 12 U.S. amateur girls—defined as girls participating in American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) events—versus their European counterparts. College/university golfers are ineligible to participate in the event, even if they meet the age cutoff. The event is held over two days, with six fourball and six foursomes matches on the first day, and twelve singles matches on the second day. Each event has been held in the general vicinity of that year's Solheim Cup. The United States has won 8 of the 13 contests, with Europe winning 4, while the 2011 match ended in a tie. FISU World University Games Gold Medalists For The United States
The International University Sports Federation (FISU; ) is responsible for the organization and governance of worldwide sports competitions for student-athletes between the ages of 17 and 25. It was founded in 1949 as the world governing body of national university sports organizations and currently has 165 member associations (National University Sport Federations) from five continents. The 2019 Arnold Palmer Cup was a team golf competition held from June 7–9, 2019 at Alotian Golf Club, Roland, Arkansas. It was the 23rd time the event had been contested and the second under the new format in which women golfers played in addition to men and an international team, representing the rest of the world, replaced the European team. The international team won the match 33½–26½. Format The contest was played over three days. On Friday, there were 12 mixed four-ball matches. On Saturday there were 12 mixed foursomes matches in the morning and 12 fourball matches in the afternoon, six all-women matches and six all-men matches. 24 singles matches were played on Sunday. Arnold Palmer Cup
The Arnold Palmer Cup is an annual team golf competition for college/university golfers. It is named for Arnold Palmer. From 2018 it has been contested between a United States team and an International team representing the rest of the world. The teams consist of 12 men and 12 women. The teams are selected on the basis of nationality, not according to the location of the players' universities. The 2025 event was held from June 5 to 7 at Congaree Golf Club, in Gillisonville, South Carolina. History From its foundation in 1997 until 2017 the event was only contested by men. 2016 Espirito Santo Trophy
The 2016 Espirito Santo Trophy took place 14–17 September at Mayakoba El Camaleon Golf Club and Iberostar Playa Paraiso Golf Club in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico. It was the 27th women's golf World Amateur Team Championship for the Espirito Santo Trophy. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event. There were a record 55 team entries, each with up to three players. Two nations, Bulgaria and Morocco, made their first appearances at the Espirito Santo Trophy. Each team played two rounds at Mayakoba and two rounds at Iberostar in different orders, but all leading teams played the fourth round at Mayakoba. The best two scores for each round counted towards the team total. Espirito Santo Trophy
The Espirito Santo Trophy (World Women's Amateur Team Championships) is a biennial world amateur team golf championship for women organised by the International Golf Federation. The inaugural event was held in 1964. It was instituted by the French Golf Federation in an agreement with the United States Golf Association. It was planned by Lally Segard, at the time known as Vicomtesse de Saint Sauveur, from France and Mrs. Henri Prunaret from America. Segard also asked her friends Ricardo and Silvia Espirito Santo, from Portugal, to donate a trophy for the event, which they did. They had originally bought the golden cup, which had belonged to Tsar Nicholas II of Russia, for an international Portuguese event that was not played anymore.
