Waimes (; ; ) is a Municipalities of Belgium, municipality of Wallonia located in the Liège Province, province of Liège, Belgium. On January 1, 2006, Waimes had a total population of 6,728. The total area is 96.93 km2 which gives a population density of 69 inhabitants per km2. Badminton
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racket (sports equipment), racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net (device), net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). The Badminton World Federation, aka BWF, is the international governing body for the sport of badminton approved by the International Olympic Committee. It was founded on 5 July 1934 as the International Badminton Federation with nine member nations: Canada, Denmark, England, France, Ireland, Netherlands, New Zealand, Scotland and Wales. The Giraldilla International is an international badminton tournament, which is organized as an open championship of Cuba. The competition is held annually since 2000 and is now a young supraregional Badminton Championship. Jeanine Cicognini (born 14 November 1986) is a Swiss badminton player who now represents Italy. Cicognini won her first Swiss senior title at age 16 and has since won the award seven more times. Biography In 2005, she won the silver medal at the European Junior Badminton Championships in the girls' singles event. Cicognini became a badminton professional as soon as she left school. She soon moved to Denmark, and then moved to the International Badminton Federation's training centre in Saarbrücken, Germany.
