Marie Al-Khazen
Marie al-Khazen (1899–1983) was a Lebanese photographer. The photographs she created of rural life in 1920s Lebanon are considered to constitute a valuable and unique record of their time and place. Early life Marie al-Khazen grew up in a mansion near Zgharta, in northern Lebanon. Zgharta
Zgharta (, ), also spelled Zghorta, is a city in North Lebanon, with an estimated population of around 50,000. It is the second biggest city in Northern Lebanon after Tripoli, Lebanon, Tripoli. Zgharta is officially the Zgharta-Ehden municipality. Zgharta is about 150 metres above sea level and lies between the rivers of Jouit and Rashein. Arab Image Foundation
The Arab Image Foundation (, ''al-Muʾassasah al-ʿArabiyyah lil-Ṣūrah'') is a non-profit organization established in Beirut in 1997. Akram Zaatari
Akram Zaatari (born 1966 in Sidon, Lebanon) is a filmmaker, photographer, archival artist and curator. In 1997, he co-founded the Arab Image Foundation with photographers Fouad Elkoury, and Samer Mohdad. His work is largely based on collecting, studying and archiving the photographic history of the Arab World. Zaatari was selected to represent Lebanon at the 2013 Venice Biennale by Sam Bardaouil and Till Fellrath, curators for the Lebanese Pavilion. Khazen Family
Khazen (also El-Khazen, Al-Khazen, Khazin or De Khazen; ) is a prominent Arab Levantine family and clan based in Keserwan District, Lebanon, Damascus, Syria, Nablus, Palestine, as well as other districts around the Levant, predominantly in the Galilee in Israel. The family were very influential within the Maronite Church. Several members have played leading roles in the politics of Lebanon for many generations.
