Marie-Louise Meilland
Marie-Louise ("Louisette") Paolino Meilland (1920–1987) was a French rose breeder and co-owner of Meilland International in France. She was married to renowned rose breeder, Francis Meilland, who bred the world famous 'Peace' rose in the 1930s. After her husband died in 1958, she took over the family business and continued to breed roses. During her long career, Louisette Meilland bred over 120 rose varieties, and received multiple awards for her work. Early years Marie-Louise ("Louisette") Meilland, (''born Marie-Louise Paolino''), was born in Antibes, France in 1920. Her mother Marie Élisabeth Greco was from Grasse. Her father, Francesco Giacomo Paolino, was the son of immigrants, who moved to Antibes from Calabria. Paolino grew greenhouses roses and owned a rose school on the Antibes peninsula. Rosa 'Bonica 82'
''Rosa'' 'Bonica 82, (aka MEIdomonac), is a shrub rose cultivar, bred by Marie-Louise Meilland in France in 1982. The cultivar was named an All-America Rose Selections winner in 1987. Description 'Bonica 82' is a medium bushy shrub, 3 to 5 ft (90—150 cm) in height with a 4—6 ft (121—182 cm) spread. Blooms have an average diameter of 2—3 in (5—7.5 cm) with a petal count of 26 to 40. The plant is excellent for use in the garden, in containers, cut flower, hedge or landscape. Buds are a rich, dark pink color. Flowers are bright, pale pink when they first open, and later fade to near white in warmer climates. Flowers come in clusters of five to fifteen, and have a mild, sweet fragrance, with ruffled, slightly cupped petals. Flowers have a long bloom time, often producing flowers into late October. ''Rosa'' 'Miss All-American Beauty', (aka MEIdaud ), is a hybrid tea rose cultivar, developed by Marie-Louise Meilland in 1965. The cultivar was the recipient of the Portland Gold Medal in 1966 and named an All-America Rose Selections winner in 1968. Description 'Miss All-American Beauty' is a tall, bushy, upright shrub, 4 to 7 ft (121—213 cm) in height with a 2 to 3 ft (60—90 cm) spread. Blooms are very large, with an average diameter of 6 in (15.24 cm), with 26 to 40 petals. Flowers are a bright pink, with little fading as the blooms age, but will burn in the sun. The rose has a strong, sweet fragrance. Blooms open from large, ovoid buds, are high-centered, borne mostly solitary, and have a cupped bloom form. Floribunda (rose)

Hybrid Tea Rose
Hybrid tea is an informal horticultural classification for a group of garden roses. The first hybrid tea roses were created in France in the mid-1800s, by cross-breeding the large, floriferous Hybrid Perpetuals with the tall, elegant Tea roses. The Hybrid tea is the oldest class of Modern garden roses. Hybrid teas exhibit traits midway between their parents, being hardier than the often delicate Tea roses, and with a better ability for repeat-flowering than the more robust Hybrid Perpetuals.
