Marietta Marich (; née Cox; April 5, 1930 – September 28, 2017) was an American actress, singer, writer, stage director, and television host. Born in Dallas, Texas, Marich became a prominent stage actress in Houston beginning in the 1950s. She later began appearing in films in the 1980s, making her screen debut in ''Courtship'' (1987). She subsequently appeared in a number of films in supporting roles, including '' Simple Men'' (1992), '' Leap of Faith'' (1993), and Wes Anderson's '' Rushmore'' (1998). Marich garnered renewed attention for her portrayal of Luda Mae Hewitt, mother of Leatherface, in the 2003 remake of '' The Texas Chainsaw Massacre'', as well as its prequel, '' The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning'' (2006). George Marich (born 11 July 1992 in Kroonstad, South Africa) is a South African rugby union player who last played with the . His regular position is tighthead prop. Career Youth and Varsity Shield rugby Marich played his high school rugby for Kroonstad-based high school Die Afrikaanse Hoërskool Kroonstad (Rooiskool). In 2010, while still at school, he was included in the side that played in the 2010 Under-19 Provincial Championship, making five appearances. In the Hindu epic ''Ramayana'', Maricha, or Mareecha (Sanskrit: मारीच, IAST: ) is a demon, who was killed by Rama, the hero of the epic and an avatar of Lord Vishnu. He is mentioned as an ally of Ravana, the antagonist of the epic. His most notable exploit is his role in the kidnapping of Sita, Rama's wife. His son Kalanemi was killed by Hanuman. Cursed to be a rakshasa along with his mother Tataka and brother Subahu, Maricha initially led his life terrorizing sages. He was defeated by Rama at the behest of the sage Vishvamitra.
