Marianne Ferber
Marianne A. Ferber (January 30, 1923 – May 11, 2013) was an American feminist economist and the author of many books and articles on the subject of women's work, the family, and the construction of gender. She held a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. She was most noted for her work as co-editor with Julie A. Nelson of the influential anthology ''Beyond Economic Man: Feminist Theory and Economics'' and her book ''The Economics of Women, Men and Work'', co-authored with Francine D. Blau and Anne Winkler. Highly regarded for her role as a central figure in the development of feminist economics, Ferber expanded the literature on women’s presence in the economy. She was one of the first people to confront Gary Becker’s work on economics and the family. Barbara Rose Bergmann (20 July 1927 – 5 April 2015) was a Feminist economics, feminist economist. Her work covers many topics from childcare and gender issues to poverty and Social Security (United States), Social Security. Feminist economics is the critical study of economics and economies, with a focus on gender-aware and inclusive economic inquiry and policy analysis. Feminist economic researchers include academics, activists, policy theorists, and practitioners. Much feminist economic research focuses on topics that have been neglected in the field, such as care work, intimate partner violence, or on economic theories which could be improved through better incorporation of gendered effects and interactions, such as between paid and unpaid sectors of economies. Other feminist scholars have engaged in new forms of data collection and measurement such as the Gender Empowerment Measure (GEM), and more gender-aware theories such as the capabilities approach. Myra Strober
Myra H. Strober (born c. 1940) is professor of education, emerita, for the school of education, at Stanford Graduate School of Business, Stanford, California, US. She also sits on the editorial board of ''Feminist Economics'', and was the president of the International Association for Feminist Economics (IAFFE) from 1997 to 1999. Education Myra Strober received her degree from Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations in 1962. In 1965 she gained a masters in economics from Tufts University. Her economics doctorate came from MIT in 1969. Personal life Strober was married to fellow Stanford University School of Medicine professor Samuel Strober, and the two had two children.
