Marianas Soccer League 1
The Marianas Soccer League 1 is the men's top level professional football competition of the Northern Mariana Islands Football Association. It is above the Marianas Soccer League 2, but there is no regular promotion/relegation between the two competitions. History The league began as an invitational event in the Northern Mariana Islands. Asian Football Confederation
The Asian Football Confederation is the governing body of association football, beach soccer, and futsal in some countries/territories in Asia and Oceania. It has 47 member countries most of which are located in Asia. Australia, formerly in OFC, joined AFC in 2006. Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands, both territories of the United States, are also AFC members that are geographically in Oceania. The Asian Ladies Football Confederation (ALFC) was the section of AFC who managed women's association football in Asia. The group was independently founded in April 1968 in a meeting involving Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore. In 1986 ALFC merged with AFC. 2006–07 Northern Mariana Championship
The 2006–07 Northern Mariana Championship was the inaugural season of top flight association football, football competition in Northern Marianas Islands. A competition with four confirmed participants (their names are not recorded in available sources) was planned to start in November 2005, but was ultimately cancelled. The competition was won by L&A/Kyung-Seung from Sadog Tasi with Inter Godfather's, Fiesta Inter Saipan from Garapan finishing as runners up and Real Mariana in third place. League table The league was played on a round robin basis with all teams playing each other once. The league table below is final, Onwell Manufacturing from Susupe (also known as Thai Squad) were added to the league over the Christmas period between rounds two and three. Joe Wang Miller
Joe Wang Miller ( Chinese: 王喆; born 3 February 1989) is a footballer who primarily plays as a forward for Tan Holdings. Born in China, he represents the Northern Mariana Islands national team. Club career MP United Miller was part of MP United's 2009 and 2010 squads. Saipan-based MP finished 2nd in the league in 2009, with Miller winning the top goalscorer award after scoring 23 goals in the season. The following season MP went one better and won the championship, remaining unbeaten in the process. Joe was the league's top scorer again, with 15 goals. Miller has an incredible record at club level, having averaged 1.46 goals per game over the two seasons he has played for MP United. Miller also scored a hat-trick in a 2nd round 2010 KASA Cup match against Wild Bill's Independents, which MP United won 5-0.
