Marian Popescu
Marian Popescu (14 August 1947 – 19 November 2016) was a Romanian football midfielder. Career Marian Popescu was born on 14 August 1947 in Bucharest, Romania, starting to play junior level football in 1965 at local club, FC Rapid București, Rapid. One year later he signed with CS Universitatea Craiova, Universitatea Craiova where he made his Liga I, Divizia A debut on 6 November 1966 in a 4–1 away loss in front of FC Steaua București, Steaua București. After one season he left Craiova and returned to Rapid where he made his debut in European competitions, playing in both legs of the 7–4 loss on aggregate in front of OFK Beograd from the first round of the 1968–69 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup. He left Rapid after a half of year to go at Liga II, Divizia B side, CFR Cluj which he helped them earn promotion to the first league. Florin Halagian
Florin Vașken Halagian (7 March 1939 – 12 August 2019) was a Romanian football player and manager of Armenian descent, hence the nickname ''Armeanul'' (The Armenian). With 878 games, he is the manager who has the most matches in the Liga I, Romanian top-division. Playing career Halagian was born on 7 March 1939 in Bucharest, Romania, starting to play junior level football in 1950 at local club, FC Dinamo București, Dinamo where he was formed and taught by coaches like Colea Vâlcov, Petre Steinbach and Ion Nedelescu. The 1976–77 Divizia C was the 21st season of Liga III, the third tier of the Romanian football league system. The format was maintained with twelve series, each consisting of 16 teams. 1968–69 Divizia B
The 1968–69 Divizia B was the 29th season of the second tier of the Romanian football league system. The format has been maintained to two series, but the number of teams was expanded, each of the series having 16 teams, instead of 14. The Liga 3, most often spelled as Liga III, is the third level of the Romanian football league system. It was founded in 1936 and was called Divizia C until 2006. Radu Jercan (24 October 1945 – 29 September 2012) was a Romanian football forward and manager. Club career Radu Jercan was born on 24 October 1945 in Popești-Leordeni, Romania, starting to play football in 1966 at Divizia B side, Dinamo Victoria București. One year later he signed with Argeș Pitești where on 20 August 1967 he made his Divizia A debut in a 2–0 home loss in front of Rapid București. Vasile Stan
Vasile Stan (born 11 February 1945) is a Romanian former football goalkeeper. Playing career Vasile Stan was born on 11 February 1945 in Bucharest, Romania and he started to play football at age 15 under the guidance of coach Lăzărescu at fourth league side, F.C.M.E. In 1966 he went to play for Dinamo Victoria București in Divizia B. One year later, Stan switched teams again, going to play for Argeș Pitești for which he made his Divizia A debut under coach Ion Bălănescu on 24 September 1967, keeping a clean sheet in a 4–0 home win over Dinamo Bacău. Constantin Radu (5 January 1945 – 16 May 2020) was a Romanian football forward. Club career Constantin Radu also known as "Tache" or "Burtilă" was born on 5 January 1945 in Pitești, Romania and he started to play junior level football at local club, Argeș, after his talent was noticed by coach Leonte Ianovschi. He started playing senior level football for Argeș in 1964, aged 18 when he made his Divizia A debut on 15 November in a 1–1 with Petrolul Ploiești. The Inter-Cities Fairs Cup, most commonly referred to as the Fairs Cup and sometimes as the European Fairs Cup or Fairs Cities' Cup, was a European football competition played between 1955 and 1971. The Fairs Cup was the idea of FIFA vice-president and executive committee member Ernst Thommen, Italian Football Federation president and FIFA executive committee member Ottorino Barassi and English Football Association general secretary, Stanley Rous. As the name suggests, the competition was set up to promote international trade fairs. Friendly games were regularly held between teams from cities holding trade fairs and it was from these games that the competition evolved.
