Marian Azeb Mereba, known mononymously as Mereba, is an American singer, rapper, songwriter, and record producer. Early life and education Mereba was born in Montgomery, Alabama, and raised in Pennsylvania. Her father is from Ethiopia. Her mother is African American and was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her family moved frequently because of her parents' jobs as university professors. Mereba first developed an interest in music at age four. She began writing songs in elementary school and learned to play the piano and guitar. She went to high school in Greensboro, North Carolina. Mereba attended Carnegie Mellon University before transferring to Spelman College. She graduated from Spelman in 2011 with an English degree and a music minor. Spillage Village
Spillage Village is an American musical collective from Atlanta, Georgia. The group is composed of rappers, singers and producers, and was founded by the members of EarthGang. Spillage Village was primarily made up of five initial members with a split-base in both Atlanta and Baltimore. History 2010–2015: Formation and early beginnings The group was originally founded by Olu (aka Johnny Venus) and WowGr8 (aka Doctur Dot) of EarthGang, who recruited rapper JID to the group during their time at Hampton University. Brothers Hollywood JB and Jurdan Bryant joined the Spillage Village soon after. Doctur Dot and Johnny Venus approached JID after hearing his first mixtape around campus in 2010. The rest of the group also came into Spillage Village through connections including producer Hollywood JB, who met Doctur Dot at a block party and joined soon afterward. Berhana
Amain Berhane, better known as Berhana, is an American singer-songwriter. History Amain Berhane was born near Atlanta, Georgia in an Ethiopian family. Growing up, he wrote songs and sang in church. He studied screenwriting at The New School in New York City, and there started to realize music was something he wanted to pursue more seriously. His self-titled EP was self-released in 2016. His song "Grey Luh" from the album was featured on Donald Glover's ''Atlanta''. During this time Berhane was also a Japanese chef for several years. Berhana was listed in Variance Magazine as one of the "10 acts we can't wait to see at Pitchfork Festival 2018."
