Maria Lindh
Ida Maria Christina Lindh (born 29 September 1993) is a Swedish former ice hockey player. Her position was Forward (ice hockey), forward. International career Lindh was selected for the Sweden women's national ice hockey team in the 2014 Winter Olympics. She played in all six games, recording two assists. Lindh made one appearance for the Sweden women's national under-18 ice hockey team, at the IIHF World Women's U18 Championships in 2011 IIHF World Women's U18 Championship, 2011. Assist (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, an assist is attributed to up to two players of the scoring team who shot, passed or deflected the Puck (sports)#In ice hockey, puck towards the scoring teammate, or touched it in any other way which enabled the Goal (ice hockey), goal, meaning that they were "assisting" in the goal. There can be a maximum of two assists per goal. The assists will be awarded in the order of play, with the last player to pass the puck to the goal scorer getting the primary assist and the player who passed it to the primary assister getting the secondary assist. Players who gain an assist will get one point (ice hockey), point added to their player statistics. When a player scores a goal or is awarded a primary or secondary assist, they will be given a point. The leader of total points throughout an NHL season will be awarded the Art Ross trophy. 2009 IIHF World Women's U18 Championship
The 2009 IIHF World Women's U18 Championship was the second holding of the World Women's U18 Championships, the premier International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) tournament for top division national women's junior ice hockey teams. It was held from 5 January through 10 January 2009, in Füssen, Germany. Eight teams competed in the Top Division tournament. Team USA won the tournament for the second time and the Swiss national U18 team was relegated to Division I. 2017–18 SDHL Season
The 2017–18 SDHL season was the eleventh season of the Swedish Women's Hockey League (Svenska damhockeyligan, or SDHL). The season began in September 2017 and ended in March 2018. Significant events Pre-season After the end of the 2016–17 season, the IF Sundsvall Hockey organisation cut its women's side, despite having managed to save their place in the SDHL during the qualification playoffs the organisation citing a need to save money for its third-tier men's side. The club was criticised for the decision, with forward Mathilda Gustafsson stating that "If we were a company instead of an association, you would never shut down a department which only employed women because the cost inhibits the male employees." The third-placed club in the qualification playoffs, Damettan club Göteborg HC were promoted to the SDHL to take their place for the 2017–18 season. 2012–13 Riksserien Season
The 2012–13 Riksserien season was the highest tier of women's ice hockey in Sweden. Eight teams competed in the league, with the top six participating in the 2013 Swedish Championship playoffs in women's ice hockey. MODO finished first in the regular season, but were eliminated in the semifinals by Brynäs IF, who would lose in the finals to AIK. The bottom two teams were forced to participate in a qualifier to keep their spots in the league, which resulted in HV71 being demoted to the second-tier league, Division 1. SDHL
The Swedish Women's Hockey League (), abbreviated SDHL, is the elite league for women's ice hockey in Sweden. It was established in 2007 as the by the Swedish Ice Hockey Association and was renamed prior to the 2016–17 season. The league has ten teams and employs a system of promotion and relegation with the Nationella Damhockeyligan (NDHL). The unexpected withdrawal of Göteborg HC after playing only thirteen games of the 2022–23 season caused the number of teams to decrease to nine for the remainder of that season. Bodychecking was allowed for the 2022–23 season and goal cameras were introduced for the 2024–2025 season.
