Maria Jeżak-Athey is a Polish figure skating coach. She is a former Polish national champion in pair skating with Lech Matuszewski. Figure skating is a sport in which individuals, pairs, or groups perform on figure skates on ice. Polish Figure Skating Championships
The Polish Figure Skating Championships () are an annual figure skating competition organized by the Polish Figure Skating Association to crown the national champions of Poland. The senior-level championships are held in coordination with the skating federations of Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia as part of the Four Nationals Figure Skating Championships. Senior-level skaters from the four nations compete at the Four Nationals Championships, and then the results are split to form national podiums for each nation. Medals are awarded in men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance at the senior level, and in pair skating and ice dance at the junior level, although not every discipline is held every year due to a lack of participants. Junior-level singles skaters and novice-level skaters in all disciplines compete in a separate competition that is exclusive to Poland. Pair Skating
Pair skating is a figure skating discipline defined by the International Skating Union (ISU) as "the skating of two persons in unison who perform their movements in such harmony with each other as to give the impression of genuine Pair Skating as compared with independent Single Skating".S&P/ID 2021, p. 109 The ISU also states that a pairs team consists of "one Woman and one Man". Evan Frank Lysacek (; born June 4, 1985) is an American retired figure skater. He is the 2010 Olympic champion, the 2009 World champion, a two-time (2005, 2007) Four Continents champion, the 2009 Grand Prix Final champion, and a two-time (2007, 2008) U.S. national champion. European Figure Skating Championships
The European Figure Skating Championships are an annual figure skating competition sanctioned by the International Skating Union (ISU). Medals are awarded in single skating, men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance. The event is the sport's oldest competition. The first European Championships were held in 1891 in Hamburg, Germany, and featured one segment – compulsory figures – with seven competitors. They have been held since 1891 with only five interruptions. Women were allowed to compete for the first time in 1930, which was also when pair skating was added to the competition. Ice dance was added in 1954.
