Miandoab County () is in West Azerbaijan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Miandoab. History The discovery of several ancient monuments around Miandoab indicates that the region was settled long ago. Archaeological excavations and artifacts such as the Qara Quzulu hill date back to 800 to 4100 BC. Menorsky, a contemporary Russian orientalist, believes that there are territories south of Lake Urmia.
