Margarette May Macaulay
Margarette May Macaulay (born 20th century) is the Jamaican Commissioner and some time President of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (OAS). Life Macaulay was born in West Africa and is of Czech-German, Dominican-French-Creole, and Sierra Leone heritage. She passed her law degree at the University of London, Holborn College. She then moved with her husband and young daughter, Berette Macaulay, Berette, from Sierra Leone to Jamaica. Macaulay has worked as a professional and academic in the area of human rights, particularly in the field of the rights of children and women. She is a recognized expert in the fight against gender violence. She has also worked for the abolition of the death penalty in the Caribbean region, environmental rights and for the land rights of indigenous peoples. Gloria Monique De Mees
Gloria Monique de Mees is a Suriname professor who became OAS's Rapporteur on the Rights of Afro-Descendants and against Racial Discrimination. She was elected to serve on the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IAHCR) from 2024 through to the end of 2027. Life Mees was born in Suriname's capital Paramaribo, and graduated with a master's degree in law from the Anton de Kom University of Suriname in 2000. She worked at the Anton de Kom University of Suriname lecturing on human rights law. Her country proposed that she should be a candidate to be elected to the IACHR. The Sierra Leone Creole people ( kri, Krio people) are an ethnic group of Sierra Leone. The Sierra Leone Creole people are lineal descendant, descendants of freed African-American, Afro-Caribbean, and Sierra Leone Liberated African, Liberated African slaves who settled in the Western Area of Sierra Leone between 1787 and about 1885. The Sierra Leone Colony and Protectorate, colony was established by the Kingdom of Great Britain, British, supported by abolitionists, under the Sierra Leone Company as a place for freedmen. Roberta Clarke is a Barbadian lawyer who has worked for UN Women. She was elected as a commissioner for the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights to serve for four years from 2022. Esmeralda Arosemena de Troitiño is a lawyer and Supreme Count judge. She is a Panamanian Commissioner of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (OAS). In 2019 she became President of that body. Life Troitiño is from Panama. She has two degrees.
