Margaretha Dros-Canters
Mence Dros-Canters (5 March 1900 – 14 August 1934) was a Dutch female hockey, badminton- and tennis player who was active from the 1920s until her death in 1934. She won seven national tennis titles and made 12 appearances in the Dutch national hockey team. Sports career Tennis Dros-Canters became Dutch doubles tennis champion six times between 1927 and 1933. In addition she won the national mixed doubles title in 1930. Between 1925 and 1931 she participated in five Wimbledon Championships. Her best result in the singles event was reaching the fourth round in 1930, losing in straight sets to eventual champion and World no.1 Helen Wills-Moody. Also in 1930 she reached the third round in the doubles events partnering compatriot Madzy Rollin Couquerque. With Henk Timmer she reached the third round of the mixed doubles in 1928 and 1930. AELTC
The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (AELTC), also known as the All England Club, based at Church Road, Wimbledon, London, England, is a private members' club. It is best known as the venue for the Wimbledon Championships, the only Grand Slam tennis event still held on grass. Initially an amateur event that occupied club members and their friends for a few days each summer, the championships have become far more prominent than the club itself. The club has 375 full members, about 100 temporary playing members, and a number of honorary members. To become a full or temporary member, an applicant must obtain letters of support from four existing full members, two of whom must have known the applicant for at least three years. HGC (field Hockey)
H.O.C. Gazellen-Combinatie, also known as HGC, is a Dutch professional field hockey club located in Wassenaar, South Holland on the border of The Hague. The club was founded on 22 September 1906. The first teams (men and women) competed for many years on the highest level of the Dutch field hockey league, in the "Hoofdklasse". In 1995/'96 both the men's and the women's first team won the national championship. The men's 1st XI also competed in the Euro Hockey League. Hendrik Timmer (tennis)
Hendrik "Henk" Timmer (; 8 February 1904 – 13 November 1998) was a Dutch sportsman, who primarily played tennis. Born in Utrecht, Timmer also won golf tournaments, became Dutch squash champion, played badminton and hockey. He died aged 94 in Bilthoven, four days before his former doubles partner Kea Bouman. Apart from being a Dutch tennis champion, he was Swiss, Welsh and Scottish indoors champion as well. Tennis career He began his tennis career at the age of 19 when he won his first Dutch national championships. He scored his first international victory over Donald Greig in a mixed international team match between the Netherlands and Great Britain in 1923. The next year he drew international attention when he was featured in the championship match for the Swiss covered courts title in St. Moritz defeating the Hungarian champion Béla von Kehrling in five sets.
